I've been hearing a lot lately that Tails' Adventure is also a really good game. Can anyone else here confirm that?

Oh yeah, a lot of these games are coming back to me. Altered Beast, Primal Rage, and Eternal Champions all owned my soul for the longest time.
There was also a lesser-known title that I liked a lot called Valis Warrior. Loooong game, never did beat it. Got to the final boss and just couldn't manage to do it.

Sub games though, as for each genre, Sonic owns the adventure type of game and EC and Primal Rage are where it's at for fighting. Of course, neither of those games have anything on Killer Instinct.

haha moonwalker was a classic, i remember playing that one time and actually getting to the boss. i instantly lost to him and broke the cartridge.

All great games, though noone mentioned "General Chaos", how rude. By the way, "Road Rash 2" definately had it better than the 3rd one.

Streets of Rage 1 and 2... 3rd one had a retarded kangaroo if i recall.
I can't remember what the name was but it you had to pick masks up, every mask had a different ability.

The greatest game ever for the Sega Genesis is the second sonic game. The first one was missing a lot of things, the third one added too much. I liked the second game, but the third one is close as well. They were all awesome.
