1.4 patch

    Patch 1.4.0 Now Available on PTR - StarCraft II

    1.4 patch notes lets do the part that affects the gameplay

    Balance

    General

    Unit vision up ramps has been reduced by 1.






    PROTOSS

    Immortal

    Attack range increased from 5 to 6.




    Mothership

    Acceleration increased from 0.3 to 1.375.
    The Mothership's Cloaking Field no longer cloaks all units instantaneously, but rather adds units to the cloak field over time (maximum of 25 per second). This should alleviate "Mothership Lag" issue when a Mothership comes online.




    Stalker

    Blink research time increased from 110 to 140.




    Warp Prism

    Shields increased from 40 to 100.








    TERRAN

    Barracks

    Build time increased from 60 to 65.




    Hellion

    Infernal Pre-Igniter damage upgrade decreased from 10 to 5.




    Raven

    Seeker missile movement speed increased from 2.5 to 2.953.








    ZERG

    Infestor

    Fungal Growth damage changed from 36 (+30% armored) to 30 (40 vs Armored).




    Overseer

    Morph cost decreased from 50/100 to 50/50.
    Contaminate energy cost increased from 75 to 125.




    Ultralisk

    Build time decreased from 70 to 55.

    Ultralisks are still to expensive for how **** they are. That being said, they will be much more useful as the second wave of a push.

    When you lost the first battle, reloading with ultralisks no longer take 2 years tio get into the battle. Most of the other stuff is minor tweaks, which probably won't affect anyone here who plays (mostly top level stuff).

    Blink stalkers will help in PVP and ZvP, where a rush to Blink won't always decide teh game early. The ramp change also helps with a lot of contains, and FF a ramp is more effective becasue of this.

    Hellion change is pretty big since it drops the number of hits to kill a worker from 2 to 3. Basiclly one or two money hellion shots won't necessarily win you the game anymore. It's been kinda sad every Korean just spams hellions now because of how well they kill workers. Think Liquid Tyler in TSL3 losing 26 probes in one shot.

    Immortal change was needed, though I still think they are massively underused, and protoss players are skillless hacks who only knows how to spam colossus.

    if it's early game i always make 2-3 immortals with my army. add guardian shield, they become deadly.

    also not noted in the original patch note, neural parasite for infestor had its range decreased from 9-7.

    i think for ultralisk, you need to have lings with your army. they who run to the back of the army to stop them from running, and ultrask to go NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM

    Added three privacy settings to the Options menu under the Battle.net section.
    * Only allow friends to send me invites.
    * Only allow friends to send me chat messages.
    * Set status to Busy when playing a game.

    I'm digging the new warp prism changes. At least from MLG Orlando, it looks like their being used a lot more at the pro level. At the very least, Sase was doing a whole bunch of sentry drops that were actually quite effective.
