All this means is the vast majority of content is complete on Starcraft thus requiring far fewer people to continue work. Bug fixes do not require gigantic piles of programmers and artists. Hey Guys, You can chose to believe me or not, but this is false. Blizzard doesn't have some huge pool of resources that they assign to one certain team or not. When someone is hired @ Blizzard, they are hired on to a certain team that only works on a specific game at one time. I have no idea if this rumor is true or false, but I will just say this: Just because SC2 was announced before D3, DOES NOT mean at all that SC2 was in development longer, it was just announced first. Either way, I would call this rumor false, the only true fact is that SC2's team is a lot smaller than D3, and that has always been a fact, always.

I don't believe this even for a second. While all of Blizzard's games are excellent, Starcraft is the best, and Diablo is by far my least favorite. I'll believe this when Blizzard announces sc will be released after, until then it makes perfect sense for a game thats fully playable and just needs campain work and some balance to necessitate a smaller design team.

If all they said was that the team was smaller, you can't say that one comes out before the other. 1) Blizzard has admitted that the remaining focus for SC2 is the campaign, which requires less resources than the game environment and structure itself. 2) You usually begin to shift resources away from one project to another once the first is nearing completion.

Most of you guys r nut jobs getting so worked over and arguing sc2>d3, d3>sc2. wrath of the lich king is going to come out before either of them that's why they will delay both projects as to not conflict with sales. diablo team has almost about 2x the # of ppl working on starcraft. starcraft need much more tweaking and balancing then diablo because of the customization. diablo needs to work more with the story and animation while starcraft is basically set. the only reason that diablo 3 will come out before starcraft is because of the bigger fanbase and practically an entire nation (korea) waiting for it. releasing diablo will allow them to get more money by satisfying the diablo fans while making starcraft fans settle for diablo before starcraft.

This extract means nothing about the release date. I'm personally more of a Diablo fan, though Starcraft is equally amazing, but honestly all I can say is don't get your hopes up. Chances are we wont be seeing either game for atleast another year or two. Disregarding any time taken creating storyline for D3 or SC2's campaign mode, Blizzard will not give us anything more than a few videos and some light reading untill any bugs and balance problems are fixed. The reason every gamer loves Blizzard is because they don't produce sloppy graphics and gameplay bugs in a rush to meet their deadline. Instead, they work their asses off untill the damn thing is so perfect that if there is a god, she or he will be asking how they got it so ****ing shiny. So my advice to anyone reading this is to sit back, ignore any info that doesnt come directly from Blizzard, and just feel comfortable knowing that when these games get released, whenever that may be, we are all in for a gaming experiance far greater than any we have ever had in our lives.

Yeah right, I would love if D3 came out first but that's not even possible, they announced it way later and only talked about 3 classes by now. However they both already had videos of gameplay as soon as they were announced. Both games are playable, hence most of the work is already done. I would imagine Blizard being the greedy people that they are would release SC2 in Q1-2 of 09, and D3 late 09-10. The new wow expansion was recently released, and blizard is making far too much money of wow, hence releasing a game that has a similar style, d3, would leach from wow. So sc2 which has a completely different user base then wow would probably make more profit if released first. Also the sc2 official site is almost completed, as in it has most of the storyline, units, etc. while d3 is still lacking in this sense. While this is an awful indicator of the progress of the game's development its something, appart from that there is very little one can find. Blizard is secret as hell!

SC2 is being released in 3 parts. While multi-player will be available with the first part, each part will have single player content for each race starting with terran. The terran part is almost finished and the game engine itself is done. Thus BLIZZARD does not need as many bodies to complete it as they need to get d3 rolling. It has been confirmed that sc2 will be released next year probably in the first half.

As much as I would love D3 before SC2, I find it hard to believe. 1. Starcraft Beta is out very soon 2. Very little details have been mentioned on D3, and the recent release details (october) Said they were still working on ALOT of the game features. 3.
