| Rogues beating Casters I'am a very good dueler with my build i pretty much beat every pally i come accross. But i can never get mages or priests i just got a new dagger so i thought i would change my talents around and i can some sub skills and i still can't seem to beat them. If your a talented rogue how do you beat them or if your a caster whats your weak spot?

| Stun stun stun, and always be behind them.
One way is to gouge them, back up, go stealth, and sap them and do whatever you want.

edit: lol i think my biggest problem is priests, i have a good friend priest and she keeps letting me practice on her but i have yet to beat her. Funny thing though i beat a 60 mage who used a pot in a duel laff.

| In duels its tough, they start with full mana and they know they are facing a rogue. Priest is especially tough, mage not quite as bad. If you are cold blood/Prep you should be able to win most of the time still, stunlock them as long as you can and go for the 2k crit before they can even move. PvP its pretty much cake because you are using pots and tea and such, they shouldn't really have a chance if you pick your fights.
What I want to know is how are you beating Paladins consistently? A friend plays a holy paladin and he just plain does not lose to melee classes.
Oh, and if you dont have the Barman shanker yet you should probably try and get one. =P

| hmmm i dont know what to say but the other day i saw a level 60 rouge useing del rend set and a mage dueling and the rouge won in about 3 hits every time and was not useing cold blood and as for priests i own them badly it just takes some time due to fear+power word shield but i take that down in about 2 seconds
but im an ambush rouge....

| Mages are one of the easiest classes to kill. And Rogues are PVP gods. Poly can be annoying but, I dont see how you get polymorphed as a rogue... You stealth, Backstab, Gouge, some other nifty skills, they should be pretty much 2/3 dead by the time they can Nova you and actually try to Poly, thats when you stun while they attempt to run away from you being novaed.

Kick+Blind

| Mage's only defense against Melee is Frost Nova.... and it can get annoying it has a low cooldown.

| Vanish is the key to beat mages.
Unless you are an Undead Rogue with their racial immune to fear, you are boned.

| Vanish is on a 5 minute cooldown, gouge last like 4 seconds, cheapshot is 20 seconds and mages blink. If my coldblood evis doesnt finish him he pollys and bandages so they I cant use vanish or sprint again. Prepartion rogues can probably beat mages easy but sub rogues DPS blows.

| Im a lvl 58 mage and most rogues i duel own me. Seems what they do is stealth at the begining of the duel and move.. they dont stop moving. So when i try to AoE i cant hit them generally. Also as a tip unless they changed it Mana shield doesnt stop your stuning effects or anything like that. Then when they have an opening they Ambush and evis me or stun me and own me.. us mages have low hit points just dont let us have a moment to move. Hope this helps, also any tips for mage to beat rogue you have would be helpful :-P

| become a corporal, get that trinket that dispels polymorph and fear... u gotta do this quick, run up to them (use sprint possibly) gouge them, stealth, ambush or w/e u use when u stealth, backstab-backstab-maybe kick them to dispel a spell theyre gonna cast, eviserate, vanish, ambush same shit
if u have blinding powder this works too
try and stay on top of the caster bc the farther away they are the harder it is to get to them and stun them |

| If you're a high pvp rank and use pvp stuff, mages can have over 4k hp, so they aren't easy at all for rogues, especially if they are frostmages (fire mages are a lot weaker in pvp vs melee classes).
Always start dueling rogues with mana shield on.
When the rogue goes for stealth at the start of the duel, just use Arcane explosion (rank 1) continuously to detect them. If you're good in making this, you should detect them an instant before they can attack, then use frost nova and blink away, and poly them. If they use the trinket to unpoly and vanish again, repeat the same strategy as before, and poly again.
Keep your mana shield active casting it often.
If they sap you, use frost nova and blink out when they damage you, then poly / start nuking them (if you're quite fast and far enough from them, their kick wouldnt stop your polymorph). Use frostbolt as your first attack, even if you're not a frost mage, cuz slowing them is very important. If you're a frost mage, you have the ice barrier option, use it. If you are in extreme need, use cold snap to reset the cooldown of your frost abilities so you can use nova / ice barrier again.
If you can play mages, its very difficult to loose a duel against a rogue.
If you're a human mage, just use perception at the start of the duel and pwn them easily. |
