Couple Divorces Over WoW Addiction

Wedding Woes: The Dark Side of Warcraft - Video Game Feature - Yahoo! Video Games

A couple married for six years divorced after the husband could not stop playing WoW. He had stopped paying bills and they clearly weren't getting it on anymore either. <_<

I know when my boyfriend got a month or two subscription to WoW from a friend, I kinda lost him for a while to the game, but I just waited until he lost interest in it. >_> This also reminds me of the Korean Starcraft player who died after putting off food and drink for gameplay. Blizzard, why must you make such addicting games???

What do you say?

Re: Couple Divorces Over WoW Addiction

Addiction is a sad thing. This is a case of failure to communicate and an addictive personality. Usually addiction unrelated to chemical reliance results from lack of substance in ones life. This is the thrill they get out of life and the highlight of their life to the point it becomes their life.

I played the game for a month and then quit. It's boring. I can't see the appeal for anyone that doesn't fulfill the above quota.

How stupid. If your significant other prefers other fantasies, then perhaps you don't deserve him/her.*

Some people just can't control themselves so they get sucked into the game. I was addicted once.

Re: Couple Divorces Over WoW Addiction

Good morning. That's why I've never played this game. If in bnet you may waste 2-3 h per day with WoW you waste the whole day. Obviously there are losers who play this game for more than a month and don't/will never realize how dumb they were to play it.
