Uh, no. Now, if they all had an exact 100% chance to crit, or a 0% chance to crit, and cast the exact same sequence of spells, then maybe a Troll would come out on top if they blew their racials, or if you were hunting beasts (or is that orc?).

But honestly, I've gone up against troll mages with better gear / same spec and I still ended up killing them. BEcause I know how to ****ing play my mage, and I can outdps most other people. It has little more to do than spamming arcane blast in PVP for the 1.5sec 1700+dmg normal hits.

Point one: If we're talking about best race, it's ****ing OBVIOUS we're talking about racials. What else would we be talking about, how gnomes get out of Line of Sight on Murmur, or have to swim on Black Morass?

Point two: We are talking about PvE. Screw PvP, it's ruining the game more and more. The best PvP race is of course the undead, but that's not what we're talking about, no sir. It's PvE (Player vs Enem... ops... Environment).

But for PvE, no doubt the one who gives most DPS is the Troll, with berserk. Specially in fights like Prince Malchezar, where the enfeeble gives a great opportunity to pop Berserk and get 30% haste.

However, for one simple reason, and depends on the situation, the one who gives most damage overall (considering a talent build without any mana regeneration, plus using Ice/Molten Armour), is the gnome, simply because of those 5% int. It's more mana, hence one more spell.

But the raid situations where those 5% more mana will actually be needed are indeed rare (yet I've seen it happening), so Troll usually gets the prize.

Agreed, and with the advent of shadow priests and the stacking of BoW with Mana Spring, all of our mages have yet to evocate against any boss we have encountered so that 5% mana is doing less and less these days.
