Shadow Priest

I'm getting WoW in the mail soon, and I was wondering what race is best for a shadow priest? Also, how many points do you put into each talent for a shadow priest?

I don't know too much about priests but Nightelf priests get starshards for extra dps.

Starshards is useless past 20 trust me. Reason why i chose NE was for shadowmeld and i dont have the balls to play dwarf.

Trust me..it doesn't matter. I know I'm no expert on WoW yet, but I've come to realize that you can be any race and any class you want and still be awesome. So choose which race you like best and be them.

If you're going shadow I take you want to PvP and not PvE, then go undead.

Being awsome in all classes dosent mean you cant be the greastest with a certin class, aka UD Shadow Priest is best..

Read the thread i linked before passing judgement on a class you guys have never played. Race matters with priests because any non dwarf/ud has shit for spells.

Dwarfs are the best alliance race for priests, stats wise, but it doesnt really matter all that much. I have a pretty nice priest guide bootleg so if you need anything, send me an IM or catch me on the BF vent.

i speak soley for alliance because i never really ahd the balls to reroll horde. to lazy to relevel up.

You guys are ****ing shitting me.

NE has starshards that is weaker than mind flay and does NOT slow down the enemy and it costs quadruple mana. Hmm good idea? i think not. Elune's grace at my current level (56) takes away a whopping 17 damage off ranged attacks. I don't have both skills on my toolbar because they are so useless.

Human has feedback. Okay who was the shithead that thought priests would melee people at 60? Even so it only takes away about 50 mana tops and to mention that a stave hit takes longer to connect than a mana burn spell that takes away a good 1k mana. Desperate prayer kills your mana to save you.....becaus it's obviously a good idea to save yourself as opposed to your teammates

Dwarves get desperate prayer (shit spell) and their vital fear ward. Fear ward is a MUST HAVE in raid instances when mobs fear people every fight. Also this is a pseudo will of the forsaken in the sense that priests will be able to beat warlocks and UD priests.

Race don't matter much?

I never played troll but who would want to do so when you have undead with will of the forsaken and devouring plague (mini shadow word pain + vamp embrace, to those guys who don't play priests that means damage pluse they gain life at the same time for 15-20 secs) and the shadow resist.

Undead shadow priests are the best horde duelers. Forsaken, shadow res, devouring plague, plus the "normal" shadow priest skills. Nothing else to say.

The best choice for alliance in my opinion is Human or Dwarf. Perception is godly when you want to kill rogues, and Desperate prayer doesnt cost a single mana point (it is not Lay on hands). Fear ward is very good in high end instances, but in pvp its useful only vs warlocks, cuz other priests can dispel it then make an instant psychic scream when they're sure it's gone off.

Just talking priest in general... Dwarf priest > all.

Of course fear ward is useful but don't underestimate stoneskin.
