does anyone else feel as if battlegrounds has in any way destroyed what pvp used to be? i mean, at first you could run around with a five-man gank squad and just BURN an entire city's worth of horde. now a days, nobody wants to run around the world killing horde the old fashion way. BG my friends, BG is the only way to rank up. hell, not even AV! AV is just for the rep. for the goddamn pig skull on a stick. no, its boiled down to WSG for your pvp needs and demands. the only way to stay tip top in rank is to blow your WoW experience away working hours of CAPTURE THE FLAG! seriously, if i wanted to do capture the flag, id play UT... not do CTF in a world of war... hence the name world of warcraft.

its absolutely retarded to even enter queue unless you're grouped with 7 people you know.. that are on Teamspeak/vent with you at that particular moment. otherwise it goes a little like this:

*you enter warsong gulch*
*you meet your team.. 9 level 51s!*
*nobody makes a raid.. everyone refuses your invites*
*the gates are open! charge out you mindless night elves!*
*your team seperates, the other team moves in, tight formation as always*
*your team gets steamrolled*
*you stand at your flag and try to defend whats left of your pathetic night elf stronghold*
*a mage swoops down and frost novas, with a rogue backstabbing your ass. a warrior always jumps down and snags the flag while a healer is in tight pursuit of him*
*you scream at your team, where the **** are they?*
*you type /afk. **** it*

WSG is dead for us. it used to be very popular, but my team won all the time. i got the top 3 in highest standing, then it just died. horde gave up, they went to AV. alliance suck in AV, so horde wins. there's no sign of going back go WSG. i'd give my soul for everyone to go back to WSG.

AV for melee based player is basically this:

you run out, you fight for 3 seconds, you die.
you ress, you fight for 3 seconds, you die.

this process is SEVERELY hastened if they summon that godawful rock elemental thing 12 times the size of god. as if it wasnt retarded enough, something runs around killing you in 3 hits. i didnt want to fight MC-like bosses, i wanted to pvp goddamnit!

well in all our games on our server those guys dont even get summoned. either horde wins in 30 min or alliance gets a good group and holds off for a long time, or a guild group gets in and spanks them.

well, my char is only 31, but when i played the 20s version of WSG, it was gay because as you stated, everyone ran around on there own expecting to dominate, while the other team stayed together and just dominated, and that they had a buncha 29s and 30s, and we had all lvls. Sad really, i lost a lotta faith in WSG.

AV on Warsong, as I'm sure with other servers as well, has become a farm, theres a 2 organized alliance groups and probably 3 horde groups, and they just join AV's all day and roll over pickups, if they see each other in AV, they /afk out and join another. Its absolutely retarded and its inflating the honor to no end.

2 weeks ago I got 80k CP and gained about half a rank, then this past week after all the AV farming, I got 130k CP, and gained 1/4 of a rank... I doubt I will even gain that this week.

Blizzard need to cut the AV bonuses by 1/2.
