A "Hello" and a question about the forums

Hey all, new to these forums, so just wanted to say hi.

This isn't a flame at all, I'm just trying to understand why the Battleforums support hacking.

I mean, this seems like a nice place, with a lot of potential and I think it's a shame that you're branding yourselves as a "newb-hacker-forum" - so to speak :P , because of your stance on hacking. Wouldn't you be better off scrapping the hacks, and aiming for an Official Blizzard Fansite? I think WarcraftForums.com could actually do this.

I know it's your choice and all, and you might ban me for expressing these opinions, but I just wanted to ask.
If you're not banning me from the site, expect to see me alot in the non-hacking forums like the Orc Stronghold and so on. Seems like a nice site.

everyone is entitled to their own opinion

The hacking forum is here because, obviously, some people like hacking, and no-one has ever pushed for its removal. It also generates many new users (seen as a really big plus for the site owner).
I don't personally see it as a "burden" to BF, tho is has slowly been dying . Even if we removed the hacking forum, there would still be the diablo hacking section, and this, will never be removed because of it's popularity.

So, it's kind of a lose-lose (or win-win, depending on which way you look at it) situation.

Or a "Don't take this off or I'll shoot you" type of thing, the people get what the people want

But it's dying..must take it to the hospital!!

hehe - true, but some admins couldn't care less.

But I see your points AvalonX. From a personal point of view, I couldn't care less about Diablo II, since I stopped playing it about 2 years ago, where as I play WC3 now, and feel hacking has a very bad influence on the game.
D2 maphack doesn't hurt anyone (arguable), but the WC3 Maphack does - severely.

You're probably right about the fact that the site owner isn't likely to close the D2 hacking section, since it's so popular - so Blizzard probably wouldn't make WarCraftForums.com an offficial fansite, even if they closed the WC3 hacking section.
Ah well, I'll deal with it, and just avoid that forum.

PS. Hackers are still pussies though -_-;; hihihi

i think it is unfair to judge all hackers so easily like that sephi. Not all hackers are pussies, some may simply hack in custom games (where is doesn’t really matter at all).

Avoiding the hacking forum if you do not like it would be the best idea. In Warcraft I, II, III and FT Discussion it is forbidden to talk about hacking, so I’d sure you'll find a home here .

Nice getting to know you a bit more.

I agree that hacking in Custom Games is not as bad as hacking in Ladder Games. But let's face it - they still have an unfair advantage over "normal" players.
But no point arguing over it - difference of opinions.

Nice sig. btw - is that from "FF7 - The Advent Children"?

**** a blizzard fansite lol

sePhi you must understand that the hacking sections generate members witch = bigger community. alot of in the hacking section dont even hack we started as hackers relized we were just as good without them and just stick around cuase we like the forums and are interested in what new hacks and such are coming out.

I am a good example of this sePhi I used to know and have every latest hack that came out for warcraft though i only used 1 or 2 of them. now i dont have or use any of them but i stay loyal to the hack forum and help how i can becuase i relate to the people that post there and know that some of them are or will be dedicated members

the hacks sections stays

btw are you a final fantasy fan lol?

another thing i would like to add about the hacks sections of battleforums is that it also includes file & downloads not everything found in those sections are related to hacking and alot of people depend of these sections as a means of tech support.

we offer alot of good information with quik responses to questions that would take an eternity for blizzards tech forum and other sections of are forums to anwser.

TheSummit is really good in this area and runs the b.net hacking section. look at some of the threads that he has awnsered to about anti-hackers and you might look at hacking with a little more openess

There's nothing wrong with our stance on hacking. No matter what it is, smacking the hacking away would take away most sections of BF, and supporting it would attract too much unwanted attention.

Welcome to BF, as well.

mkay lemme give u my 2 cents. mebbe that hack section generates more viewing and more members..more 1 post members looking for something. I have not seen regular posters in hack section that actually post in other forums.

And in the end who needs those kinda memberes?.

I talked once with cort on aim and told him that IF! BF is reported to blizzard BF will be closed in no time. What was that other site..warcrafter.com or something that got closed so many times coz of it.

Hacking in custom games, avalon, it seems to be the more stupid..idiotic thing ever. why on earth would u even bother?. It doesnt count towards ur stats and who gives a damn if u win or lose?

I don't agree with it either so..i stay out of it. simple.

Yes, sadly our site is a hacking site. That is how we generate money and new members. This is one of the only sites that still supplies "reliable" hacks. I don't think it will go anywhere soon, unfortunatly. All hacking does, is bring in a lot of n00b members.

We don't make hacks but we host them. That makes us a hacking site, but it doesn't make us a hardcore hacking site. I don't think we will ever change.
