| Defeating the Beastmaster Okay, just so the whiney bitches stop whining in my ear, i will write a small guide to taking on the "big cheese".
First off, igf ur opponent is NE, expect the beast master! NE players are idiots who think that the BM is the only way for them to win.
If u start on a tavern map, scout to see if they are making the BM and see what they are getting with it. usualy at lower levels it is a "ignore the bm and kill the supporting units" ie. archers.
Mainly each race gets anticasters and in this case, anti-summons at tier 2. neutrals are recieved at tier 1. Neutrals
The following units either have purge, or abolish magic. these units do not cost much, and they are good for all summons, not just the BM.
Forest Troll shadow priest-Abolish magic
Kobold Geomancer-abolish magic/slow
Satyr Soulstealer-mana burn
gnoll warden-purge
now for each race counter, in conjunction with the neutrals. humans
to start, the blood mage and syphon mana is one way to suck the mana out of the BM.
Many may say spellbreakers, but if u must know, spell breakers DO NOT CONTROL LVL 2-3 bears and level 3 hawks.
Priests dispel deals 200 damage. Against a level 3 bear, u will need to cast it 6 times if u wanted to take out it just with priests, but that is why the above mercs with the pries helps out. Orcs
Probably the BEST way to deal with the BM is shamans. think about it. purge deals 400 damage, which is double that of dispel, slows the target and costs 75 magic. and it is easier to cast on the summons.
It takes a spirit walker about 4 casts of disenchant to destroy a bear. This is good because it doesnt have a cool down, but only costs 125 mana. Night elf
The demon hunter, to start off, has mana burn which takes a chunck out of the already low mana pool of the BM.
The dryad is another unit to use, since dispel deals 300 damage to summons.
Fairy dragons I would suggest against going farie dragons, since they do little damage to casting heros. Undead
DL sleep. The best i can come up with is either sleeping the BM, or the hawk and bear.
Destroyers, and devour magic, which is a poor excuse for a summoning counter only deal 180 and is Tier 3. Which pretty much means undead is ****ed without neutrals.
for the BM, he is a tank, so focusing on him isn't always the best idea. unless you are ud with triple hero nuke, or human iwht mass aoe spells, it is usualy best to deal with the other annoying units around. |

| This is good pan. It will be useless when the patch comes out. Hopefully this will silence the newbie threads that talk about people whining about the beastmaster. :/ |

The easiest way to counter Beastmaster is to:
1. Sap his mana, and keep it low, he can only have one hawk at a time. (ex. Mana Burn, Siphon Mana, Feedback[from Spellbreakers])
2. Hero-nuking abilities (ex. Death Coil + Frost Nova + Impale)
3. Purge and Wisps are probably the best way for dispel.
4. Immobilizing moves: Cyclone, Stun, Sleep
The easiest way to lose to a Beastmaster is to let him hit higher levels. Keep him dead, keep him low. If he can't get past level 4, his summons will not be nearly as overpowered.
And to those who said "anyone can get the Beastmaster" is right, however in the Night Elf case, he works the best because they can actually GET archers before Huntresses. This is the main reason the Beastmaster is popular --- it can produce a second early meatshield while it's other choices cannot. Also, check out NE's hero basis, there's not ONE strength hero in their lineup, while every other race has one. The Beastmaster, Pit Lord, and Panda are their only options, and who would they turn to, and why? The Beastmaster because:
1. It's speed matches agility heroes.
2. It's health is high, being it's strength based.
3. It can add 3-7 units to your army, and it's ultimate in combination with Starfall is pretty much 75 damage a second (not that many people use this, but I have in a FFA).
4. Night Elf has no melee units until Tier 2. A summonable "grunt" so to say is extremely useful and without cost.

| what sux is that dryads sound like there probably the best bet, but if your gonna be elf vs elf it would just be best to be the one with beast master lol
if not warden and dryads sounds right to me dryads for dispel and warden for shadowstrike SS=Hero killer
