| uggg...help,, i installed war3 and war3 frozen throne today. and when i go to make a custom game to play against the computer... i can move for like 3 seconds then the game justs locks up. i cant use ctrl + alt + del or anything, but i can still hear the game sound.. i downloaded the 1.21 patch, and got the latest drivers for my video card. and it still does the same thing. system specs are..
p4 HT 3 ghz
1 mb ram pc3200
160gb HD
128mb radeon 9200 w/ latest catalyst drivers
the other thing is, my brothers computer, it works fine on, its like a celeron 2.5 ghz? intyergrated intel xtreme graphics... 512 ram. any ideas? does war 3 have compatibility issues with ATI cards? |

| When it means, "Lock up", does the game screen stay the same or does it go blank? And can you Alt-Tab/Winkey yourself out of Warcraft?
Also try running Warcraft at the absolute lowest graphics settings. It will look ugly, but it helps determine whether you have a corrupt set of drivers, a corrupted OS, etc. It could also be overheating.*

| as soon as the game loads and i see my 5 "workers" or whatever, i can move the mosue for around for like a few seconds then it just locks in place. the screen stays normal, you just cant move or do anything. you cant alt+ctrl+del or alt+tab . i have to shut off the computer. i have the latest catalyst drivers, and it did the same thing when i had the old drivers. i dont think its overheating. it runs CS just fine. but now CS is doing the same thing... but even when CS worked fine a few days ago, WC3 still did the same thing |

| Is the sound a repeated sound? As in is the sound the same after 10 minutes, for example?
This sounds like a hard drive/motherboard/graphics card failure, if Counter-strike is starting to fail too. Does your system randomly crash every once in a while for no reason?*

| Start > Run > dxdiag > Run every single test. Do any errors appear, or are there any crashes?*

| Obviously...
Do my actions, please, that helps narrow stuff down. In case you are wondering what, it helps to figure out if DirectX is at fault (it can get corrupted at times).*

| A little stupid, but have you tried reinstalling Warcraft?
I'm running out of ideas here because if your Windows is fine, and Counter-strike is starting to act up, it is contradicting the hardware failure/overheating thing...*

| Then I have no clue, really... It comes down to your CD being bad (which is unlikely as installation would've failed) or your OS files corrupted...
Run a new Warcraft game and then let it crash out. Then go to your Warcraft directory and go to the Errors subdirectory. Do you have a crash report for the newest occurrence?*
