Competitive Warcraft III

If you haven't experienced competitive gaming before, maybe you will now. I haven't played Warcraft III in a long while, but I have followed it through CAL and the CPL. I was shocked that after I did a search on the Warcraft forums that there was zero talk of CAL. So I thought I would let you guys in on it.
Quote:
The Cyberathlete Amateur League (CAL) was created in March 2001 when the Cyberathlete Professional League acquired a small online league named Domain of Games.

CAL was launched with only one Counter-Strike division and has since expanded to include nearly thirty game divisions with hundreds of thousands of registered league members.

CAL attracts both seasoned veterans of online competitive gaming, as well as gamers just starting out, and is an innovator within the online gaming community. The primary goal of CAL is to be the standard for online competitions worldwide.
Season three for Warcraft III should start soon, a month or so. So if you would like to participate go to:
http://www.caleague.com/?division=wc1v

Note that in CAL there are rules that you must follow, and cheating will get you banned quickly. Though if you follow the rules, you'll find it to be very fun and competitive.

Now about the CPL. The CPL is a LAN that is hosted usually twice a year in Texas.(More now since they have a tour) The games very, but the last CPL(Happened July 6-10) had:
Counter-Strike
Counter-Strike: Source
PainKiller
Day of Defeat
Halo 2
Warcraft III

It is said to be the 'E3' of LANs, giving out thousands of dollars to the winners. So if you are really a hardcore gamer, you can go and compete for the huge prizes.

Anyway, I just wanted to get the word out so that maybe the Warcraft III divisions would grow, and maybe get some of you guys hooked on competitive gaming.

I am not a fan of competitive gaming. I just like to have fun when I play.

We tend to leave competetive gaming on war3 to the koreans and the europeans :P

Notice the amount of americans (that includes canada and south america) compared to powerhouses such as denmark, sweden and korea.

Yeah, I feel I can't stand a chance against those people. But I do offer advice that could help you in the long run if you decide to switch to competitive gaming.
