Sounds like a good strat with Mountain giants and dyrads. Use the MG taunt so that all the units attack them and have the dryads focus fire on each unit one by one and easily pick them off. The first strat like you said is lacking air which i say you definatly need get some aa in there and it would be fine.
Only throw in 2 MGs, Dryads for auto dispel / slow if noone else is getting dispel. Hunts + DoTC Roar / Rejuvenate will win most ground wars except something crazy like mass tauren.
You use ground units, very well. For me it's the best startegy. But use not only units that attack ground-your strat is pointless without archers, dott or hyppos\faeries.
Well all cheese strats are good ne strats. I think Chimaera in a late game can do impressive damage if you use the corrosiver thing. Dryads are not always that good, sometimes archers are even better, but if u do a small pack of dryads the dispel hability can be good.
But you almost always need an anticaster in long games because if the enemy goes bloodlust, inner fire, any good buffs, you'll be killing yourself if you don't have that auto dispel.

good but dryads arent supposed to be used for focus fire because of the little dmg they do, they are better for attacking seperate units.
