boss hit points change

Here's a question I wonder if it's possible, so if any of you out there can let me know you would be much help. I'm making a map with a boss, and I would like to have the bosses hit points vary according to how many players are playing. For instance, if there is one player playing, then the bosses hit points should be 1000. If there are 5 players, then it would be 5000. Got it? So if you think you could help me please let me know if there is a way to do this.

There's 3 ways I can think of off the top of my head. 1 is to use the trigger Handicap feature and make it more based on however many players there are. (1000*players).

Another way is to Give him a max life of 12000, disable regen, then set his life using Unit - Set Life, based on the amount of players.

The other way only works if he is a hero: Make a custom item for +1000 life, and give him x amount of them based on the amount of players. Another -1000 item would work well for players leaving, if you wished to rebalance.

Good methods, but items wouldn't work for more then six players.

You can give him tomes of health which disappear on use, Which is the item-type I intended. A tome of -1000 health can be made as I said as well...

I am not sure if you can give tomes to non-heros... I am pretty sure you can though if you give the non-hero the inventory(Hero) ability just before giving the item to them. (You can remove the ability afterwards if necessary)
