Help me ive run out of ideas.

I am fairly new to making maps and i have run out of ideas to make a map, because i want to make a map but cant think of anything and i want to make one That is good, so where i can learn more and am able to make better ones.

If you could gve me an idea or something that would be kewl.

lol..i have that same prob.....just make a TD there fairly easy and everyone enjoys them....just try to make an original one...

Ya, i started making a TD but then got pissed off with it because i make like where it goes turns, goes again, then turns, that way when u build towersit will get the monsters when they walk through on both sides. So i made regions on each orner, and i tried to make it so after so and so time, the monsters apeared in the starting region, then like 2 seconds later it ordered them to move to the 2nd region, and when a unit enters that region it goes to the 3rd. and so on. But no matter how hard i tried i couldnt get it to make them walk through. That is my problem.

lol if u make it so the they walk in a path that is set in water and the rest above it all u have to do is have start and end region and then only need 1 order. And make it so the air moves as ground and it will make them follow it too and u wont even notice that they move as ground. <-- works everytime

Action
Create __ UNITS in REGION
wait 2 sec
Order units in REAGION to move to END

OMFG, doesnt matter what unit it is, when i do it, and then test the map they go for about 30 feet, then walk back to were they started. Also when my towers attack them, they run around like crazy and stop moving to their destination--- 2 problems there. >.< uuuuurrrg. :doh

u COULD try making a invisible unit somewhere in the map that when a level starts takes damage and that makes your units run. something like:

event-Unit - unit's life becomes Less than 50.00
condition-none
action- create (number) units at (start region) for (neutral hostile) facing (180)

and than.

event- every 2 seconds of game time
action- Unit Group - Pick every unit in (Units in (region)) and do (Unit - Order (picked unit) to Move To (Center of (end region)))

and if they run round try removing attacks. aqasuision range or something like that hwen they will attack to 0.

ill look around in my maps folder i should have a short tutorial map how to make a td. else try looking on wc3forums they have GREAT TUTS! (no im not advertising)

If a unit walks into the leak zone and is removed, they will not get a chance to walk back O_o

and you could use seperate triggers for movement O_o

-unit enters region [your region]

-player is 12

-order unit to move to [your next region]

guys, he said he wanted ideas, not more trigger talk.

i say make a defense map. doesnt always have to be hero defense, or tower defense, and as a matter of fact, im going to start making a defense map based on units alone. heroes can bite my skinny ass.

Ok, thanks for the idea Darimus. Ive got moving the creeps down.
But how do u make it so where when a unit enters a region, it kills 1 specific unit, then when another unit enters the same regoin it kills another specific unit, and so on.


NVM i figured out how to do it.
