| My idea of DotA

I honestly am neutral with it. I play it when I want to, but I don't really enjoy it, but it depends on the situation. I am more of a melee person.
However, there are people that are treating it as a "ladder" style of play. There are clans for it (some of them don't even know what modes are) like TDA and CAL, there are players that would buy the game just to play DotA, and there have been cases where other players treat it more seriously than others.
I know a guy at my college. He has friends he LANs with. They play CS 1.5, Wc3 and other games. When they played DotA, they brought forth the dark side of them. Usually, they would have nice friendly games in between each other and have fun. But now there are people who are pissed off and keep insulting each other, just for slip ups and other things.
The Game Side

I don't mind it being 1 every 3 or 5. I do mind that it is somewhat taking the fun out of the other customs. Hell, I can't go 2 days without Greg asking me to dota with him (that's pretty much all he plays now).
The Map D side

It is the pinnacle of mapmaking. With Jass and everything, hands down. However, this raises retarded questions. There have been people on Dota-Allstars.com's forum that have posted retarded questions that could easily be answered by looking into the Map Editor and learning them yourself.
For instance, one guy asked how do you home missiles. Another guy said it worked by trigger. Oh wait, there is an option that enables that in the unit specs.
So really the scale is balanced here. On one side, it shows you what you can do with map making technology, but on the lazy evil side, it shows just how stupid people can be.
I for one made maps in the SC days. Back when Zap and ISOM was the best combo until StarDraft was invented. So I pretty much carried on. I am able to make maps and trigger, its actually quite easy if you think about it.
The People
----------
The Bane of DotA. There are people who like in melee, show no respect for thier teammates or enemy players. Some even insult another because thier hero is better than thiers when the only reason they win is pure exploitation. This isn't real life you fools.
I for one only insult those who either did something bad (form of criticism), or just plain immature.
Final thoughts: Dota is a scale. Has many good thigns, and has many bad things.
