i'm new to tis forum... started playin dota not more than 1 mth...

i juz wan to ask item wat can b stack up, and wat cant b stack up... eg atk spd, movement spd

that is incorrect. some orbs do in fact stack such as frost and lightning. maelstorm and frost stack but they are always switching off ex:

when i shoot i give off a frost attack every time except when the 20% from maelstorm shoots off.

same with manta, if my opponet has mana, then manta will work but if he has no mana then he will be frosted. (most likely never will happen lol)

and llifesteal and frost stack and never switch off.

i think maim is over ridden by frost

the rest depends on where your item is placed. top left has highest priority but some orbs will over ride others regardless. manta is beaten by maim. i have a chart that i'll find on my comp if people are really interested in it.

and directing the noobie's question, no item really stacks except for attack speed. the rest are usually diminishing returns.

you can find your attack speed by using the formula

1+% (ex 55% = .55) / 1.7 = how fast you attack every second

multiply that by your damage to get your damage per second.

o.. thanx... now i noe movement spd does nt stack... i hav a few qns to ask... hope u all can help me..

1) let say if i buy Butterfly & Power Tread.. My Atk Spd is increase by 25%... so my atk per sec is 0.25/1.7.. am i correct? (y is 1.7?)

2) then if i put Butterfly at the top left, then does it means tt my movement increase by 25% but nt 30% ? (by power tread)

3) wat does the Black King Bar do??? i dun c any changes in stats after i activate avatar...

4) i dun understand wat Drow Ranger Ulti means... It says 'slays lesser enemies in 1 shot' & 'lvl1 - 10% slays creeps / lvl2 - 15% / lvl3 - 20%'

For a period of 15 seconds, plus adds strength and stuff. Choose those 15 seconds wisely.


Creeps are identified as the Trees, Dotts, Necs and Ghouls. Along with creeps outside in the forests.

i think it is actually 10 seconds.

and your attack speed is 1 + the 25% from butterfly and 30% from treads divided by 1.7 (1.7 because that is the universal attack speed for most of the heros except a small amount)

so it would be

1 + .25 + .30 /1.7 = attk per second

yeup i get most of this info from dota portal though i've never played anyone on these forums besides thizz, the people at dota portal are really noob (besides a few good pros) and brag about the lamest things... (oh i just got godlike in this replay, check it out!)

wow i just found 3 awesome pairs

lich, magnataur: mag ult to center all the heros and lich ult.
pudge, omniknight: pudge rot and omniknight repel pudge to stop self damage from rot.
and terrorblade, necrolyte: terror sunder necro ult for instant kill

personally, i think that the pudge omni is the coolest////

Any pair can be lethal, you just need to discover how they can work together.

Malle on dota-allstars.com put together a quite conclusive chart of everything's stackability in DOTA. The problem is the site's down. Also, the Eye of Skadi isn't an orb effect for ranged units. Evasion doesn't stack. Bashes, crits, and stout shields stack with diminishing results. It rolls the first one, and if it fails it rolls the second. You can't EVER double-crit, and hero skill crits are rolled first. Naix's leech stacks with leoric's aura, which stacks with leech items and naix's aura. Umm... Can't think of much more. I think Maelstorm and any custom triggered ones are orb effects for every hit, not just the ones they're triggered on. Bashes and crits take over orb effects when they hit. Stygain doesn't stack with anything at all.. That's about all I can remember. Oh and if you have a skill that modifies your attack or says orb effect (only like half say if its an orb effect), then it will override orb effects in MOST cases. The only modifying skill I can think of that isn't an orb effect are Naix's leech and sting..

if you can't double crit then how come on pa i see a scramble of numbers sometimes when i have a buriza and her ult?

i always thought if both occured the higher crit would take place but sometimes i still see a jumble of numbers when i play her.

evasion doesn't stack? so if I buy radiance first, i only get the 8% evasion when i buy butterfly after that. so butterfly's 25% evasion does nothing?
