| More war3 accounts closed..
Warcraft III Accounts Closed
Tuesday, September 14, 2004
A number of additional accounts and CD keys have been tied to the use of a hack or cheat program while playing Warcraft III on Battle.net. In keeping with our aggressive stance against cheating, we have permanently closed 7,400 Warcraft III accounts. 3,500 of the Warcraft III CD keys used with the now-closed accounts have been banned from ladder play for one month, and 1,000 more have been banned from ladder play permanently. Repeat offenders risk having their CD keys disabled, which will result in the permanent removal of their copies of Warcraft III from Battle.net.
We will continue to monitor Battle.net for cheating and take action as needed. If you would like to report additional instances of hacking or cheating, please notify us at hacks@blizzard.com. A false report filed by one player against another will not result in the actions described above.

| I dont quite understand what you mean, are you bitching about the hack ban in general, or people who send in replays of hackers? In the case of a replay being sent in, no one gets banned unless someone ACTUALLY hacks. And I dont think anyone here on BF is level 1 anymore, one win gets you level 3, at the least.

My friend saw an archer go right at the edge of his line of sight (I was with him armed with rifleman). We engaged them and slaughtered his team of 10 archers and 1 potm. Later, that lvl 1 complained that my friend used maphack to see his units. He saved the replay and those blizzard fools cut my friends ladder gaming for 2 months. | |

| He didnt get banned for that, they only ban if you ACTUALLY hacked. So either your friend hacked on that CD-key, or possibly he backstabbed on that CD-key. I mean, stands to reason if you were playing with him, you would have been banned too right? Its not like the level 1 knew which one to complain about. Besides, the ban is only 30 days, not 2 months.

| Funny thing is, my win % in solo games is about the same as Theroy's, and I havent hacked since september of last year..
