Still cant host maps

I have opened all the ports listed, and I still can't host any custom maps. Now before anyone tries to be a smart ass, yes the game is popular enough that people will join. I know my way around routers and internet protocols enough so you don't really have dumb it down for me. Any help would be appreciated. I have the D-Link DI-624 wireless router with the latest firmware and I'm connected via wireless in the house. The only thing I'm not really following in the router thread is how to tell if I'm opening the ports for in or out. Thanks in advance.

i have opened all the ports listed and I still cant host games. I think my router and internet connection are crappy because we've had problems from day 1 with the internet. I'll just pass on it till I move this fall and hope it works then. Get my own wireless set up. Any suggestions on that?

Wireless is not recommended, sure it looks fast, but its really unpredictable the connection speed, and its the worst idea for hosting.

Since you have a D-Link, did you go into your Applications directory and ALLOW 6112-6119 BOTH ways along with 6112 as your trigger port?

You must first setup static ip's within your network. Then you setup the ports and firewall rules .
What type of router are you using? maybe I can help.

I have a D-link DI-624 Rev. D. I have the latest firmware, I just updated it 3 days ago. Since I did that i lose my internet connection shortly after joining battle.net. If anyone can tell me exact instructions with even pictures possibly. Thanks to all of you for your help so far and I hope we can all fix my problem.

*EDIT* I now cant seem to hold a connection. I last about 2 or 3 minutes and then I lose my connection, then when I go to reconnect, it says that my CD-Key is in use by me. Help.

Are you using a 56K modem or Wireless? Cause if you are going Wireless, no wonder....

And do you know the password to your D-Link options browser?

Have you tried contacting your Internet provider? Mmy service covers internet + static ip, but if that is not your case, you may have to pay for acquiring one. It is cheap. And if the CD key is in use by you, try re-entering the game, restarting the pc, ejecting&inserting the cd again or simply waiting a few minutes.

OT: Chris, I haven't played this game for a month, I will probably not and when I leave home I will be completely inactive, till next year (2008), when in fact I would look for SCII not war3 anhymore. Well, I think I'm officialy retired from this game, altough I still watch not more than 3 reps a month and enter to observe like, few times a month. Meh, I just don't see the point in trying to be smth when this game will soon be replaced and I will be inactive till the release of SCII. BUT skill remains, and this is not only for war3, even after a year I would still own those I own now, even when my game becomes SCII and I decide to enter war3 for old time's sake.

Restarting helps, I just never have had this problem before up until I updated the firmware on the router.

I have now tried to play online at my Mom's place out of town over satellite internet and I never dropped out. It was pretty slow but I never had one problem. I'm also wireless on my laptop, so my router is stupid.

Stupid router
