| My friend just did a paper on this very topic of drugs and whether they should be legal. i mean they allow ciggarretes to kill 50,000 people a year in SECOND hand smoke LEGALLY. And they didn't have a puff. Stuff like that and back in the early 1970's when reagan declared his war on drugs. Since then drug use has increased, and crimes have gone up. Like ciggarretes, other drugs just make you feel better. If it were legal instead of a black market (where there is no competition) there would be businessmen and competition like that of another addicting substance, pop.
If it were legal people wouldn't rob convenience stores to get there fix. Or kill drug dealers when the price is to high. But the only thing I don't agree about that whole side of the argument is driving, people will have so many things to get hopped up on DUI will be the most common offense. So either way you look at it, as of now we are taking the wrong point of view.
