3100kg/1 * 2.205lbs./kg = 6836 lbs so you were about 2164 lbs off.

So lets not be to critical of peoples math unless we know what we're doing in the first place.

btw I should mention that today it was brought to my attention that some countries use commas where periods are used and vice versa. So the apparent mathematical blunder with decimal placement may not have been made.
