Well, if you want we could put a list up but... it's common sense...
1) NEVER DOWNLOAD FROM SLD (Second Level Domains like cjb.net 5u.com and stuff like that, and don't forget the free FLD .tk)
2) NEVER DOWNLOAD FROM SITES HOSTED ON: Yahoo, Geocities, Angelfire, etc.
3) NEVER EVER RUN SOMETHING BEFORE SCANNING IT WITH A *GOOD* ANTIVIRUS (not norton shit, use Kaspersky, and if you can't "buy" it, just use their online scanner, google for it)
4) You should only download from .com/.net/.org sites, and if you are not sure just ask someone... also downloading only from links tested by moderators would be a good idea.

Perhaps a list of legit sites would be better, considering there are likely to be far fewer legit sites than scam sites .

true... but even some of the legit sites are scams

but if your like german, russian... or another language outside or french, english us/ca. somesites might end with .de or .cx, so they also can be hard to determan.
