Island Map FFA strategy's

I've been playing 5 player FFA's recently on the map Island Hop and am repeatedly getting owned or being pinned down to my initial main island.

i consider myself a pretty good player with 493 wins and 270 losses.

i concentrate mainly on playing as terran and am looking for good strategies in a 5 player ffa

i know that a winning strat with terran is mass bc alongside dropped gols but was wondering if there are any alternatives to this late game strat.

Island maps are based around late-game strategies... that's just the way they are.

Good Terran players I've played against seem to like to harass you until you forget to expand. They'll keep bugging your main until they've got most of the map covered and your expansions destroyed. Usually (from what I've seen... I used to play on my own island map all the time), they'll harass with just about everything. I haven't played on Islands (or against people, for the matter) in quite some time, so based on what I remember, they'd hit me with tanks around my borders, they'd irradiate my workers, and they'd threaten me with nukes until I go insane.

As much as I hate to say it (because I'm horrible at it and it happens to me too often), harassment is the key to victory for Terran players on island maps.

i havent thought of that... most people on FFA island maps just hoard all their resources and make primarily only anti-air defenses, a prime time to strike while they're making their capitol ships.

is it possible to rush with toss realistically by making lots of shuttles and a ground army?

yes, it is. By using this build:
8 pylon
9 assim(it's an island game, right?)
11/12 gate
as soon as this is done make cyber then robo second gate, range, etc.

May I suggest bringing a reaver along with those zealots?
FFA complicates things so you may have to decide whether you're doing anti-terran, anti-zerg and anti-toss.

The above build works vs both terran(some micro needed on your part to make this work) and vs zerg going hydras(if he went mutas, forget it) I don't think this'll work vs p since he'll have some goons lingering around.
