Least Favorite UMS Map Types

Defense maps.

I find them boring and monotonous, usually lacking of original concept or design. Every once in a while a decent defense map comes out, like Disease Defense, but is short lived. Easily my least favorite type of UMS map.

Madness maps are probably number two, considering how infrequently I play them.

Post your least favorite map types and comment as to why

From your other thread. However my opinion has not changed. Playing a few more madness maps lately, I have decided that they are a disgrace to the UMS Community. Why play those when you could play Evolves? Or Golems? I just don't see what people were thinking when they made madness maps. The only plausible one is BattleForums Madness, since it is probably the most balanced one I've played opposed to the common Simpsons/Teen Titans/AvP/Final Fantasy/Other Madness Title.

On that notion, Sex Hotel and any other games related to Cybrering in SC are just a disappointment to any mapmaker. I was even urged to go in there and pretend to be a girl then make them feel stupid and leave. It's just horribly pathetic and the thought of even doing something in terms of SC with Cybering makes my stomach turn. Why cyber there when I can ask Miss T.a.t.u?

The "Don't Move" maps suck pretty bad too. The mover guy can just slaughter the guys in the middle if he really wants to.. I don't see the challenge in it

You mean survival maps? Hehe! Well, some of the Resident Evil ones are pretty intesne with puzzles and problems that happen along the way, it's pretty neat when someone can make a good survival map and twist it around so it isn;t just a survival type of game!

"Don't look at the dot" was fairly pointless, although it was funny to watch everyone drop because they willfully looked at the dot after it said "DO NOT LOOK AT THE DOT!"

Basically crap maps, hahaha! ^^ I hate rigged maps a lot though, like the mapmaker will do everything right but make one unit super powerful if he is upgraded and when people do it, it really takes away from the fun of the game as a whole. I want to play fair and kill the baddies fair! FAIR I SAY NAY! ^.*

I've never rigged any of my maps, unless that's the actual point of the map itself (Exterminators). I never understood why anyone would go to the trouble of making an entire map, and then make one player completely unbalanced so they can just decimate everyone else. Yes, balancing a map isn't easy, but no one said making a good map was

By the way, us three have the best avatars on BF

No way! Yours looks like an italian man! Mines the best! ^_^;;

Well, that's normal though. People aern't going to enjoy a quickly put-together map! They want quality anda lot of it, so that the map and the pleasure of playing through it is just that more enjoyable, for both the players and for the creator! He get's sto say ''I actually did it!''

No mine is the best, she's busy doing what she does best

You have to take into consideration the fact it isn't always that they put the map together quickly, a lot of the time it's simply because they lack the skill to make it look professional. Map making does require a decent amount of skill and experience before your maps start to even resemble something playable After I got a good amount of experience under my belt, and was ready to make professional SCUMS maps, I just scrapped all my old projects and started fresh. It was quite a few maps after that before I had before I even begun mastering the combined art of designing, creating, balancing, troubleshooting, and the other skills required in making really good SCUMS maps. Now my maps end up 100% bug free. It's a matter of hard work and dedication, not necessarily just a lack of time put into the map

I remember there was an RPG way back and it was like 256x256 RPG and was something like Dragon something. And there were so many triggers in that map and it took like 15 minuetes to download. Now that was effort.
