New project...

After months away from SC and map making, I had an uncontrolable urge to make a map! However, I didn't have any idea what I wanted to do.

Until an hour ago! Before I go into the idea, know that I won't be giving away every detail, just bits here and there...

Hunters (name may change)

This is going to be a fast action map. Four players, four playable units/characters, 20 levels(may change), one winner.

I don't have a full list of 'hero' or enemy units yet. Depending on what unit you use will depend on if it has supporting units, movement restrictions, low/high energy req for the spells they cast, etc...

In this map, you pick a 'Hunter' and go kill shit! Just one snag... The enemy fights back. You have superior weapons, but they have numbers on their side! Also, the other Hunters are NOT your allies and you can kill them. Each time you or another Hunter dies, you or the other Hunter will have a 10-20 second Death Penalty. One snag, if you kill another Hunter, you will have an X number of kills deducted because you killed a fellow Hunter!

Kills = Cash = Upgrades to weapons/armor = Faster Kills = Faster Win (or loss, lol)

Each player does have a 'Camp Fire' or 'Base Camp' that they can heal at, at the cost of kills or cash, dunno yet.

i think losing kills for killing someone else defeats the purpose of making them enemies.. you should want to kill them so you can make them wait the 20 seconds.. what happens if they keeps suiciding into you until you have no kills left? i'm just saying.. seems counter-productive.. if anything you'd want to reward them for killing someone else

Double posting be damned!

Instead of one LARGE area filled with 100s of enemies, its been split into four areas. Each player gets their own area. Each player goes through the levels on their own, and the first one to finish/defeat all 16 levels is the winner. Each player gets four lives. Will need help to figure out the life system...

There are now eight Weapons. Instead of characters like Pyromaniac or Sniper, there are types of Weapons!

Flame Thrower - Gui Montag (Firebat)
RC-P90 - Jim Raynor (Marine)
.50 Cal Sniper Rifle - Sarah Kerrigan (Ghost)
Assault Suit - Alan Schezar (Goliath)
Swords - Fenix (Zealot)
??? - Tassadar/Zeratul (Archon)
Energy Rifle - Fenix (Dragoon)
Grenade Launcher - Warbringer (Reaver)

Terrain is finished. Locations are placed, may add more for some of my trade mark "Eye Candy." As far as units and unit settings go, all I've got so far are the names of the Weapons, except for the Archon weapon, nothing seems to fit its type of attack! :doh

The 16 levels will consist of four units from each race, although I haven't desided what those units will be. I do know that they will be all ground units.

Both Terran and Protoss armor and weapon upgrades can be upgraded to 14 or 15. After you beat/pass a level you will get two minerals or gas to use to upgrade.

Not sure if I want the ability to change from weapon to weapon. For one I'm not sure if it would conflict with the life system I have in mind.

I thought of that, and desided not to use it. You have to take into account its type of attack and how it attacks.

Take the Marine... He fires a full auto rifle similar to an RC-P90 or Assault Rifle, and he fires in bursts, which is the best way to fire a P90 or Assault Rifle. Not to mention with Stim he fires faster...

Now take the Zealot... He attacks with blades, hence Swords.

The Archon is a melee unit, with a very special attack. The word "Cannon" just doesn't fit right... The word "Cannon" gives the idea of a long range weapon.

I know I couldn't think of anything better either.. it's like a high powered tazer with splash damage.. Plasma Gloves.. lmfao

Its a possibility for this map. Not sure though. Just doesn't sit right. I can usally look at a unit and its style of attack and know right away what kind of weapon they look like...

However it did give me an idea for another project I'm working on. No its not even Blizzard related...

switch to firefox. Lmao. Fine ill jsut use colors and no glow :'( Is white glow that bad? I cant even see it with firefox

Yea it makes it more work to read stuff than it's worth

As for the newest project ideas that you listed (I never commented on them), sounds very cool. Are you going to make it so everyone has access to all the weapons? (Like everyone can pick the exact same thing.. that way balancing won't be as huge an issue)
