| I havnet done SC in awhile but isnt it basicly, switchs are all set in one position and u can set a certain action to change the value of a switch and then triggers with the conditions requireing the switch to be set or wahtever will be initialized. |

| Switches are never really "absolutely needed," in the begining i didnt know how to use them but there are always other ways around switches. But switches makes the map look more professional, i think.

| I have never really found a "simple" way to explain switches.
All switches are cleared by default.
Just setting a switch does nothing. The switch is set, but nothing will happen.
Now if you have the condition "Switch # is set", all the actions can be fired. But only once the switch is set.
So, examples are:
Marine is brought to beacon, set switch 1
Switch 1 is set, create 5 marines at beacon
------
Player 1 accumulates 5 gas, set switch 1
Switch 1 is set, subtract 5 gas
Set Switch = Switch is turned on
Clear Switch = Switch is turned off
Toggle Switch = Switch is turned to the opposite of what it was.(if it is off, then it is turned on, if it is on, then it is turned off)
Randomize Switch = Randomly sets the switch either on or off. |

Im used to my variables in the warcraft one now. |
