Quick, Easy, Painless question...

First off, "I'm New Here!" well duh. I may be new to BF, but not to SC. I've been playing SC since it came out and I simply can't get enough. I've recently gotten hooked on RPG maps, mainly ones that are hard and take time to beat. I've noticed that the newer the map, the more it sucks. It seems as if noone takes their time anymore like Lockdown420 (or something like that), maker of Padorath's Return RPG. If you've played it you know what I'm talking about. Ok, enough BS down to the question(s).

I'm wanting to make my own RPGs but the limited abillities of StarEdit are driving me insane! Example, I can't change unit text colors, place buildings to make a wall, change the max upgrades to 255 like soo many other maps have, ect...

What are the programs I need to do those kind of things?

I'm also getting hooked on these "Bound" maps. What do I need to make sqare terrain?

Basicly what you need to do is download the more advanced editors. Like SC-Xtra 2.5 and Starforge and/or SCM Draft. there is a editors section in that thread that links you to a relyable download host.

Hey thanks guys, SC Xtra Editor and Starforge are exactly what I was looking for! Now comes the fun part of actually makeing the map(s). Terrain, story line, and unit settings are the easy part, finding out how to do all the sweet things I've seen in other maps is whats going to be the hard part.

I'll be back if I need help with triggers.
