| Map Ideas God damnit, whenever I think of an idea for a new map It's already taken. It seems that there's a map for pretty much everything that's being played on brood war. Making bound and defense maps hes become somewhat boring, and most people are getting tired of seing the same kind of map constantly come up. All of these maps are mostly the same anyway. It seems that a new, creative idea is rarely introduced to the people that play these maps, as they are not easy to think of. At some point, when the first bound map came out (whatever it was, id be interested in knowing that) it was concidered an original and creative idea, but now it's become tiring to see new versions of this 'bound' concept apear over and over again and to see the same kinds of things in each one of these maps. If anyone would like to share some map ideas that they may or may not use that would be cool.

| you could do a reality type of map where like ur someone and you have to get up go to work get payed buy food etc.:cool:

| I have a few idea's and I do plan on making these maps, but feel free to make one off these ideas if you like them.
1st. Puzzle Defense - This will be a defense map that is much more than just getting Lurkers and stuff, instead you will have to think and you will have 3 tries to get it right, downsides to it are that it will get boring quick because if you figure it all out then there would be no need in playing it. Some of the idea's come from Mario Party on SCBW like the Firebats killing DT's without any vision.
2nd. Final Fantasy Legends - I finally started working on this again, but havent got far yet, this map will have characters from all the good Final Fantasy games and it will be huge with an awesome battle system and lots more spells and I plan on adding Limit Breaks.
3rd. Mario Party 4 - I plan on making this like the real game with a dice system I thought of and it will actually contain Mini-Games and it will be set up like a the real playing board, I would love to see people re-make and add more Mini-Games and just make whole new maps. This will be released sometime around March.
4th. Behind Enemy Lines RPG - If you seen the movie then it will almost be exactly like that except there will be weapons and stuff and more than 1 player with 4 "Good Guys" and 3 "Bad Guys".
5th. Dark Cloud RPG - A remake of the PlayStation 2 game Dark Cloud with 5 player support and I'm planning on adding a 6th player as the "Evil Guys". This is basically a game where you get 5 different characters each with a unique weapon and many skills and you won't have to get 2 hours into the game to get the other characters.
6th. Match-Ups (Probally gonna change name) - This is basically a 6-Player Tetris game in which you will have to match up units and the further you get into the game the more units will come out. This maps is almost completed, just trying to fix a few bugs.
Thats pretty much all of them, if you want to make one of them yourself then do it, I'll be happy to see what people can do with my ideas

| I really suck at the map editor...and well...i cant seem to make anything work, as i really dont know how to "tweak" the triggers. So if someone could help me please with a few good trigger actions id be grateful. E-mail me nibakanus@yahoo.com

| Nibakanus, if you ask a specific question on what you want the trigger to do, I'm sure someone here can tell you how to set it up.

| OK, back to the topic at hand
Map Ideas
How about something you see everyday, but never though to put it into a game. What that would be? Sorry, it's your point of view, not mine, that and I'm still working on about half a dozen games of my own that just aren't what I want for a finished product.
Another idea, something that has been done in another type of game, but not with SC.
A board game, baseball, soccer, how about a pinball machine.
Last idea for the night, something that creates an action on SC, that goes against how the units were intended to be used.
And no not burrowing a tank or some other fool thing like that.
As examlpe of this, I attached a game of this type, as well as the second category also.
It's called Death Racer, based on a movie by the same name, but mainly, an arcade game from the 80's, also by the same name.
The concept, race around the game running over pedestrians with a Vulture.
Note.... I said running over, not shooting, something not usually done in a SC game.
Relax, the ideas will come, or not.

| Thanx, for 7th idea Crookedfoot, I'm going to make Grand Theft Auto: Vice City  , heres how its gonna work..
I know how to make traffic on UMS maps, because I made a movie map with cars flyin down the road running over the guy  so I'm going to make traffic. Maybe at the bottom they will have 4 pads which each do different things, if I put a Civilian on the bottom pad my guy will steal the first car that come within his location and the top would be to get out of the car. Money will be a little complicating so I'll have to think of that and I will release 2 versions of the map, one will be to just play around and have no point to the game, but the other will be with missions and each person will be against each other.

| I'm working on a really nice-looking Half-Life RPG map right now... some ideas for you though... - I had this great idea for a map (maybe RPG) that would allow players to control Civilians that could "board" mechanical units--when he brings his Civilian up to the unit, it makes a sound like loading into a Bunker and the player controls the mech. It appears as though the Civilian loaded into the machine. Then there could be a storyline, what ever you prefer.
- Another idea my friend came up with, he wants to put it on Warcraft III so it'll take him a while to get it anywhere... he wants to make a "mercenaries" style RPG. It would be like the Space Pirate Wars RPG map but with more of a storyline.

| When i saw that GTA idea, with cars and stuff, i thought if a map based on that old "Frogger" game, you know where there's a lot of cars across a road, and you're supposed to get the frog across.

| Sorry CerebralChain the Frogger idea was taken about 6 months ago.
About the same time that I thought of it, I saw it on Bnet.
But, there's no rule saying you can't make your own version, and it be better than one you never saw.
Go for it, maybe I'll make mine, and we can compare.
Maybe take one idea like this,,,, we all build our own map,,, and have a compition to see which one is most liked by this forum.
Sort of an UMS tournament.
