| Help, Can't Open Map!! I was messing around with
*center* / *place to right * marks,
but when I tried to play the game one of the times I tested it the game wouldn't start, so opened it with scx2.5 and it said:
This application has encountered a critical error:
The file data is corrupt.
Program: (Directory of SCX)
File: (Directory of Map)
staredit/scenario.chk
Press OK to terminate the application.
So figured it was the overlapping text that screwed up since the map worked fine, saved, added overlapping, saved, map screwed up.
Kinda pisses me off as I have no other copies of the map and it was almost done (After countless hours of making). And I am not ready to remake it from scratch, if anyone thinks they can get it opened I can send it to them.
(I tried opening with Starforge and GUEdit, still didn't work).
If there was a way to delete triggers without a editor that could do it, just need to delete the briefing triggers (the objectives one)
Thanks for the help.

| Bah! oh well, I'll just hope there is but if not its not too bad as I was getting bored of SC but I still wish I had released the map. (Was just another LotR map we could say but had much more content and was very accurate, even had voices from the movies and such Bleh,

| You could try linking to a page that hosts the file. Or, you could to create a split .zip or .rar file (use the sfx archive type for zip).

| You might open it in MPQ and take out the sounds. Then once it's fixed reinsert them.

| Check the sticky thread for where to get an MPQ program. Remember that .scm/scx files are just .mpq files with a different name and designated to stand-alone map data. You can use the program for both starcraft's data mpq (which have all the units, sounds, etc.) and any maps you have... as long as it's a valid MPQ, that is (and by the sound of your problem, it may very well not be, in which case you'll just have to see if heim can help you out since I haven't toyed with mpq stuff for months).

| You can't link directly to a file on an angelfire site (violates their TOS).

| Try zipping it. Do you have any other email clients? You can create a link on your site to the map. |

| If you used StarForge to make terrain or whatever(at least this happens to me) you can't have any locations in the map when you save with StarForge. If so, your map won't work. So, if you did that you're screwed. -Matrix-
