Kind of hard to help you find "Toolss" when you don't specify which "Toolss" you need.
Name the "Toolss" you need, I'm sure someone here knows where to find them.

As far as the not losing, just don't put in a Defeat trigger.
There's no rule saying that you have to have one, Blizzard just places one there as a default, deleat it.

If you use StarEdit, the tools you need is here or/and here.

If you want what i think is the best Editor out there, you want SCXE (Star Craft Xtra Editor). You can get it here.

Ahhh.... noobs... All you need is ISOM and SCXE. And GuEdit, if you wanna protect your maps, change terrain, change player color and stuff like that. And if you're gonna dl GuEdit, you will also need JRE (Java Runtime Enviroment(sp?)). Just... use google...

The sucky thing about stacking minerals and stuff like that is you have to place cordinates for each one and that takes a long long ass time.
