Fire Fighters [v1.0]

UPDATE- New version HERE. Get it while its hot! (read below for a description of whats new.)

Check this out! I might have shown a few of you this already, but this is the finished (close enough :rollie), polished version with all the goodies n' stuff! (and hopefully no more bugs :fwink). As you might have guessed by the name, the purpose of this map is to fight fires, and even if I do say so myself, its turned out pretty good! But don't take my word for it, post yours instead! Gimme some feedback on what you think, any bugs you might find, improvements, Cool Ideas (TM), etc., and I'll make a new version to include them! (maybe  )

Oh and by the way, I've decided to lock this map, which goes against my usual trend but I'm starting to have some reason to be a little more protective nowdays, so... (its PROEdit, if you must know! I'll have to credit Clokr_ in the next version .) If you want a copy of the unlocked map though, then all you need to do is ask and ye shall receive, but the way I'll do it from now is to release a stripped-down version with only the core functional triggers to learn from, and none of the gameplay or levels and stuff (easier to learn and it'll require you to at least invest some creativity and effort in order to make new variations, which incidentally makes it less fun trying to steal as well.)

Anyhoo, Enjoy! And don't forget the feedback!

I'll play it A.S.A.P. (In a few minutes.)

It's pretty much impossible 1 player... But it's a really fun level. Keep up the good work!

well, u kno some jokesters are gunna let the fire burn, u might wanna make a ban thing (didnt look at map, 1 may alredy b on there). when u ban them, u wanna have it where it must be 3 ppl to ban, and when u ban, the units are spread out evenly among the other ppl.

Controlling more than one unit would disrupt the balance of the game...

If they don't want to play, just remake the game.

I'll add a banning feature, but usually when a game reaches that point its Jewed anyway, so might as well RM like Heim said.

<adds to list>

Do you mind posting the map in a .zip format and with another map along it to make the file size atleast 120 kb.
For some reason, I can't download maps that small, it'll just download half of it.

So... Is that the complete version? You should seriously post it in the map making tournament.

Tell you what, I'll make a new version of it, and I'll put that in the mapping contest. There are a few big things I want to fix/add now that I've gotten some feedback on it, and then I'll call it "complete". We'll just call this the beta version.

Oh, and let me know now: is there too much, um, "tutoring" during the first part? What I mean by that is, does the text messages and stuff start to get overwhelming or does it adequately explain everything (is it enough or too much, in other words)?

I think it's just fine, but I only played it once. You probably think that it might be a problem because you already know how everything works.

Weee, new version . Lots of cool stuff this time, including new levels, random fire messages (some funny ones ), new secrets, easter eggs, bug fixes, and better overall playability (oh, and you CAN get runover on the freeway if ur stupid enough to unload ur unit by a moving car .) In other words, even if you've already played the prior version, you really should play this new one. I think I'm about done with it too, unless I (you?) can think of anything major to add or come up with any more major bugs that I might have missed.

Enjoy, and remember: FEEDBACK!!!! (not the archon's kind, email and replies n' stuff.)

first things first, why not be able to select which mode you are playing (single player,2player,3player,4player and so on and so forth)

? Well because really, its not MEANT to be single player. Like D maps. I mean, you COULD do it, but you'd be hard pressed to win, which I've made that way by design. But with at least 2 people it should be at least playable. Well do you want a single player version? Badly enough to pay me money, send me virgins, and provide me with cable internet at home?!

Didn't think so. Actually I might do that, but note that I am at the location max, and I'm getting near the string max also, but that wasnt an excuse to stop me from adding another whole level and a banning feature to the new version, so meh, I'll think about it.

Well, besides using instant transmission or something (move unit), which looks and functions unrealistically, or else finding a faster way to move the wraith, or else maybe just simply shortening the distance (too late probably now that I've ISOMed the terrain and I'm too lazy to try and rearrange chunks of the city anyway), if you can think of a cool way to do it, then I'm all ears. Note however that I am at the locations max, so having it jump a bunch of little locations along the way won't work either I'm afraid.

I could maybe do something where it centers on burrowed units positioned along the way, moving the truck at each step, but that'd also be a pain and wouldn't look as smooth as it does now.
