one of my friends relative works for blizz and he said with the amount of requests blizzard has begun thinking about starcraft 2, he said instead of an expansion they want to make a full version, just like they did with warcraft 3: reign of chaos, glad i cleared that up

they were too busy, with thinking abut sc ghost, getting war3 rdy, sc 2 wouldve just been way too much, nows the perfect time ;D
