Probe Description: Probes are robotic drones controlled by an artificial intelligence. The Probe truly shines in its service to Protoss military might, providing service to the Nexus of any Protoss base. They are also used to warp in structures, manufacturing and planting micro-beacons, allowing fully functional buildings to be warped in over interstellar distances. Although this is their primary function, Probes can still construct facilities from scratch, along with harvesting resources, courtesy of their in-built particle beam.
Zealot Description: The heart and soul of the Protoss military are the fierce Zealots who have sworn their lives to the defense of Aiur. Through the path of the Khala, they learn to hone their innate battle rage to a fine edge. The power suits worn by Zealots enhance and channel their already formidable Psionic abilities, allowing them to form a protective shield around themselves and project massive energy blades from their forearms. The Zealot is the backbone warrior of the Protoss ground forces.
Notes: Zealot have gone largely unchanged, save for their charge ability, making them extremely fast in chasing down enemies.
Abilities: Charge
Description:Allows the Zealot to quickly approach enemy units within a certain range.

Immortal Description: Before the loss of Aiur, veteran Protoss warriors who had been crippled in battle could volunteer to continue their service by being transplanted into Dragoon exoskeletons. Now, the Dragoons of the past are all but gone. The sacred shrine that was dedicated to the creation of the Dragoons was infested by the Zerg. The remaining Dragoons have been transformed into Immortals. New Immortals are created from Protoss warriors who, defeated on the battlefield, are instantly transported to the nearest safe haven. Immortals are outfitted with twin phase disruptors as their primary attack form; they give critical fire support to legions of Zealots against ground targets. Their specially hardened energy shields only activate when struck by powerful attacks, which leaves them more vulnerable to the pinprick attacks of lesser foes.
Notes: Powerful unit against armored heavy hitting units like Tanks. Smaller units like Zealots, reapers and hydras will not activate the Immortals powerful shield and are great counters.
Abilities: Hardened Shields (Passive Ability)
Description:Reduces all incoming damage to a maximum of 10.
Researched at: Twilight Council
Energy: N/A
Mineral: 200
Gas: 200 Notes: Hardened shield will also reduce damage from all incoming fire, including a nuclear missile. An 80 damage siege tank will only do 10 damage, whereas a marine whose attack is less than 10 means the shield does nothing to it's damage.
Stalker Description: The Dark Templar are masters of stealth and guile, though the fall of Aiur to the Zerg demonstrated that guile alone cannot defeat a foe as relentless as the Swarm. Inspired by the ancient and honored Dragoon walkers the Dark Templar have begun to build war machines of their own. The Stalker is a machine controlled by the shadow-essence of a Dark Templar warrior fused into a metal body
Notes: Operate primarily as slightly weaker but more agile dragoons, with a short range teleport ability.
Abilities: Blink
Description:Teleports the Stalker a short distance

High Templar Description: High Templar are veteran Templar who forgo the rage and traditional forms of combat common to Zealots in order to better develop their psionic powers into potent tools and weapons through the Khala. They have gone through little changes since the Broodwar, and are able to merge with other High Templar or Dark Templar to create an Archon.

Dark Templar Description:The dark templar are powerful psionic warriors whose forebears were exiled from the protoss homeworld of Aiur over a thousand years ago. The protoss who would eventually become the dark templar were banished for their refusal to join the emerging Khala, the communal mind link shared by all protoss, and the accompanying caste system enforced by the ruling Conclave of the protoss.

Notes: Archons have very little details released, but it is assumed they remain largely unchanged
Colossus Description:The Colossus is an antiquated Protoss war machine, dating back to the Kalath Intercession. It is unique in that it was created purely as a war machine, in contrast to most Protoss automotons which are mainly created for industrial and/or resource gathering purposes. Such a trait was demonstrated by the mass slaughter carried out against the Kalathi, appalling the Protoss. As such, the Conclave outlawed the manufacture of Colossi, and existing machines were deactivated before being sealed away in distant asteroids and uninhabited moons. The war against the Zerg however, has prompted the Protoss to reinstall the Colossus as part of their arsenal. Notes: It's size allows it to traverse cliffs, small to medium sized rocks, and even small buildings like supply depots. Because of it's height is can see over cliffs, but can also be targeted by anti-air (like Missile turrets). Units with both ground AND air attacks will utilize whichever is stronger when firing on a Colossus.

Observer Description: Observers are the Protoss' mobile detectors. Although Observers are 'permanently' cloaked Protoss players must be more alert to enemy anti-cloak units; the Observer's low health gives little time to escape attackers. Observers are cheap enough to have a handful accompany an attack force, especially against a target with many detectors.
Notes: Observers have gone largely unchanged, including it's ability to upgrade speed and sight.

Warp Ray Description: The Warp Ray is a Protoss escort ship that is the product of the divergent advancements from the joining of the Khala-following Protoss and the Dark Templar in the aftermath of the Brood War. Normally the prismatic core is held in check by an arrangement of flux field projectors. When a Warp Ray locks on to a target, the projector arms smoothly part like the petals of a flower. A complex array of warp lenses and phase-crystals works to focus the energies of the prismatic core into a powerful beam. As the prismatic beam is held on the target, more of the focusing array becomes aligned, and up to three individual power streams combine together. Over a few seconds the beam's intensity and power grow exponentially.
Notes: The beam is capable of engaging both land and air targets, and is powerful against heavily armored structures and units, such as Terran Battlecruisers, as there is a longer time required to destroy such targets, and therefore, a longer time for all of the Warp Ray's three primary arms to align onto target and activate successively. The damage multiplies by 4 after 2 seconds and 8 after 4 seconds.

Mothership Description: Motherships are mighty vessels that were constructed centuries ago during the Protoss Golden Age of Expansion. They were intended to act as primary command ships to lead vast armadas of Protoss explorers through deep space and bring them safely home again. In the aftermath of this period of expansion, the surviving Motherships became holy shrines to the Protoss, representing an honored way of life and a part of the proud history of the Protoss race. As such, they were left in place as titanic monuments at the farthest reaches of Protoss exploration. It was believed that their like would not be needed again. After the Zerg devastated Aiur however, the surviving Motherships were were called back into service. Now they are crewed not with mystics and historians, but with warriors.
Notes: Motherships are powerful support casters for the Protoss. Multiple Motherships can be built, and it's powerful arsenal has been reduced significantly to a support role.

Buildings:
Nexus Description: The Nexus is the heart of a Protoss base. Unlike most other protoss buildings it can be warped in without a Pylon. It constructs Probes and serves as a processing center for Minerals and Vespene gas.
Pylon Description: A Pylon is a Protoss structure needed for a Probe to to be able to warp in most Protoss buildings (other Pylons, Nexuses and Assimilators being the exceptions). Protoss structures and units, to a lesser extent, draw their energy from a great psionic energy matrix that emanates from Aiur. While a Nexus provides a link to this matrix, Khaydarin Crystal-based Pylons are needed to actually tap into the energy required to provide psionic energy to new colonies. Each Pylon generates a short-ranged aura of energy, which can provide the power needed by structures and warp gates. If a Protoss building loses its connection to the Psionic Matrix, it will shut down until it is reconnected, and new units cannot be gated in if there is insufficient psionic energy to provide them with power.[.
Assimilator Description:The Assimilator is a Protoss building used for harvesting Vespene Gas. Although materials are usually warped in from Aiur, Vespene Gas is still required for these materials to be produced and the creation of warp rifts. An Assimilator must be warped in on top of a vespene geyser before Probes can collect vespene gas from it, packaging the gas for collection
Notes: The Assimilator has a new ability to refresh the amount of Gas by an certain amount, costing minerals and taking it offline for a period of time.
Forge Description:The Forge is a site of Protoss technological development. Although their technology is incredibly advanced when compared to that of other species, the Protoss constantly strive to enhance and refine their weapons and armor. Work at the Forge rarely ceases, as this edifice is where much of the research takes place.
Notes: The Forge have gone largely unchanged, including it's ability to upgrade speed and sight.
Photon Cannon Description:The Photon Cannon is an automated defense structure of Protoss design. Although the Protoss revel in the glory of personal combat, they also recognize the need for automated defenses. As such, the cannon fires an encapsulated antimatter sphere similar to that generated by the Dragoon, which can target air and ground targets. They are enhanced with special sensor technology borrowed from the Observer.
Notes: The Photon Cannon have gone largely unchanged. They can no longer move around.
Gateway Description:The Gateway is a Protoss building used to "create" infantry. It creates a swirling rift that warps in Protoss warriors from their home territories to the location of the military colony housing the Gateway. A phenomenal amount of energy is required for this operation and, as with all Protoss structures, a Gateway can only function if it is powered by the psionic matrix formed by a network of Pylons
Notes: The Gateway can be upgraded to a Warp Gate, allowing the "warp-in" mechanic.

Minerals: 150
Vespene: None
Requires: Nexus
Associated Unit/Upgrades: Builds Zealots, Immortals, Stalkers, Nullifiers, Dark Templar and High Templar. Upgrades to Warp Gate
Build Time: 50
Warp Gate Description:The Protoss have significantly upgraded the Gateway for the upcoming conflict: it can now be transformed into a new version of the Warp Gate.
The Protoss inventors barely understand the technology, as it has been reverse engineered from ancient Xel'Naga structures found on both Aiur and Shakuras.
Notes: The Warp Gate can Warp in protoss units anywhere there is a power source. Power Sources can be generated from Pylons and Phase Prisms.

Templar Archives Description:The Templar Archives in StarCraft II is a requirement for producing High Templar in addition to providing upgrades such as Psi Storm and Khaydarin Amulet. It cannot be warped in unless a Cybernetics Core has also been constructed
Null Circuit Description:The Null Circuit is a Protoss structure in StarCraft II. It enables the Robotics Facility to warp in Colossi from the Robotics Facility.
Observatory
NO IMAGE AVAILABLE Description:The Observatory enables the Robotics Facility to warp in Observers and is also the center for their upgrades and upgrades for the Phase Prism.
Fleet Beacon Description:Easily recognisable, the Fleet Beacon is built around a huge sphere carved from the largest and purest of Khaydarin Crystals. The beacon focuses Psi through this sphere to strengthen and magnify the warp rift created by the Stargate, allowing to teleport the largest of Protoss warships
