Missing the bigger point here

I just read a thread that stated "by the time sc2 comes out starcraft will be outdated"

I dont think that should be the idea here, so what about graphics, people now says are just for games with GOOD graphics, and i gotta say some of the new AWSOME graphic games arnt as catchy, yea they look good, but its the origonality, no matter how old starcraft is. It is fun when you play it, it is different ever time you play it. You might have some bad games here or there, and some good and tough along the way, but come on people, why do games have to be rated on there graphics? i think its bullshit how that is, i play games according to how fun they are, starcraft is a game of its own, Thats all there is to say. No one can come close to getting as good as starcraft is, once there might be, hopefully blizzard will come out with sc2.

Starcraft will be a game of champions. It will surpass all others in the books of history. Serious, though its graphics aren't considered "good" anymore, the 2d graphics it did provide offered much to the lower end systems. This game can be played well with almost any system; the newer systems are just as capable to play it, but better graphic cards and sound systems the game will continue to be a classical.
Starcraft holds dear and close to our hearts. Too close in fact, for when SC2 comes out people will expect too much out of it. They will judge it too fast and damn it unworthy. Once the game is played how it is meant to be played will it rise once again.

Though Blizzard is really known for Warcraft, Starcraft holds better ground than any other game it will create. The history of Starcraft BETA and ALPHA changed the way us gamers played...forever.

Much love,
-Cappy

I believe SC still looks good. They made it a way that although it's not "Amazingly Spectacular", but yet very artistic and appealing; it suits the atmosphere perfectly. That was back when people still didn't care that much about graphics as much as they do now. And I do agree people will probably trash SC2 immedietly if it comes out for one reason or another just because people are stupid. SC will remain a classic, and as for me, SC is what defined Blizzard, and still defines them. If no one knows who Blizzard is but plays PC games, all you have to say is "You know, the people who made Starcraft" and they'll know how much quality and prowess is involved when compared to that.

SC2 may actually be in the works. I heard Blizzard North and Blizz. South (or something like that) merged together somewhere in Cali. for reasons "to work together on an undisclosed project". Now, why would a good company pull together if they weren't working on their flagship title? eh?
