Nagalisk Calling

[Final Warrior]

*Leo was in depe thought, sitting on the bed in his room. He was still in his suit, he never left it in public. He thought of the pressures weighing upon him, the blood on his hands. It wasn't just the Nagalisk that he had killed...*

Leo: We were oiginally bred as assassins... bred to carry out an agenda...

*Over the months of fighting, Leo had withdrawn into himself. His suit was his shell, no one could see what he was thinking. And even if he didn't have the suit on, no one would be able to read him, not an more.*

Leo: Wars take more than just lives and time...

*And then there was her... She was always there. But he'd never go to her. No, the one person he didn't want to go to, most of all, was her.*

Leo: I wonder how Dexter's doing...

*Inside Medical...*

Dana; Strap him, down don't piss him off!

*Dexter was struggling against his bond, lashing out at anyone getting near him. Not that he could lash out much, being strapped down and all. Techies were in the room, trying to get near to disable his suit and remove it. The suit was still functioning, giving biometris and data on Dexter.*

Dana: *Speaking into interocmm* Sir, we can't get near him!

Commander Geans: Wait. The Professor is here. She's headed your way.

*Two minutes pass and Divinia enters Medical with a group of technicians.*

Divinia: Dana.

Dana: Professor.

Divinia: Oh, stop that. You're not my student any more. What's his status.

Dana: You should know, Prof- Divinia. The suit relays everything to us, and his AI is quite receptive.

Divinia: Good. *Examines biomonitors* Not good. Those eggs are going to hatch soon, and unless we get them out, we'll have a dead man and a ruined suit on our hands.

Dana: They can break through that suit?

Divinia: A facehugger's exit velocity is that of a subsonic sniper round. If it doesn't splatter against the softer inside of the suit's armor, then it'll probably crack the shelling.

Dana: So how do we remove the suit without getting killed?

Divinia: Oh, that's easy. *Speaks into comm* Jameson, get down here. I need you to set up the lead. We'll have the suit off in no time.

Dana: What's this ead?

Divinia: The "lead" is Marine slang for-

*The door to Medical opens up and a rugged looking caucasian man walks hit holding what looks to be five cilcular boards.*

Man: Sargeant C. J. Jameson reporting, ma'ams. I brought the magnetic field.

Divinia: Good. *Turns to Dana* That's the "lead". It deflects EMp waves. And this *pulls out a small device* Is an EMP grenade. We'll pulse his shields so they're down and use this to temporarily disable his suit. It'll be easier to reprogram the suit than to build a new one.

*Jameson sets the circular boards on the ground and pulls out a remote. he presses a large button in the center of it. The boards pulse with a sickly green glow.*

Jameson: Ready ma'am.

*Divinia plants the EMp grenade on Dexter's chest by throwing it onto him. The EMP grenade sticks onto Dexter's chest. One of the technicians comes forward with a bulkly looking beam emitter. He activates it, and disables the shield of Dexter's suit.*

Divinia: Quickly now!

*The magnetic field comes up and Divinia sets off the grenade. The biomonitors go blank, still powered, but showing nothing.*

Divinia: Okay, his suit's dead. Let's get workin!

*With the suit dead, Dexter is pinned down by its servos locking. However, he can still lift up slightly as he is bio-augmented. The technicians remove parts of his armor and Dana pricks Dexter with a needle full of sedative.*

Dana: That's enough to knock out two bull elephants. He won't wake for another 3 hours. Let's get cutting.

*Dana and her medics and Divinia and her technicians begin surgery.*

Simon gets up off the bed and walks down the vast halls of the ship. he heads to the VR room and turns on a jungle/beach with no Enemy AIs and then activates it. He sits on a rock near a river and sees a girl about his age bending over the river, running her fingers through the water. Simon lifts an eyebrow as he watches her

*Leo broods over his memories in his room, waiting for news of Dexter...*

An hour later...

Divinia: Keep him cold... we're finished here. I need to write up a report.

Dana: Hey, how about a snack later? Go over old times.

Divinia: Alright, if I'm not busy...

Dana: And why don't you bring along the team? Or at least Sam or whatever his name is...

Divinia: You mean Simon?

Dana: Yeah.

Simon deactivates the VR looking a bit more relaxed now that he had some time to himself. he walks out of the VR room and heads to the medical wing to see how Dexter is doing.

Simon knocks on the door, then punches a code in and the door opens. Simon salutes quickly and walks towards the medics and doctors standing over Dexter

Simon: whats the word?

[Final Warrior]

*The technician left in charge turns to Simon.*

Technician: He's good. We won't know how much damage was done to his systems until he awakens. The drugs should be wearing off in a few minutes.

Dexter slowly opens his eyes and then looks around. He tries to get up but the straps keep him down. he thrashes around violently

Dexter: BLAST IT LOOSEN ME I CANT BREATHE

Simon smirks

Simon: better do as he says

[Final Warrior]

*The head technician goes up to Dexter, and, instead of loosening him, puts two suction-cup thingies on his temples and wires them.*

Head Technician: We need to check you over... I'll loosen you later. And if you calm down, you'll be able to breathe.

Dexter grunts and then breathes shallowly but calmly

Simon watches the techs (military for technitions) work on Dexter

Dexter: can you hurry up? I have training to get to.

Tech: man you really are a talker. im going as fast as i can

[Final Warrior]

*Soon, in about fifteen minutes, the techies are finished and Dexter is released. The head tech patches in a comm to Leo, telling him that Dexter is good to go.*

Leo *Thinking* : Well, at least he didn't die...

Dexter slaps Leo hard on the back

Dexter: now, what did i miss fromthe training?

Simon: Dex, you missed yourself almost blowing me to peices

Dexter: um...what?

Simon sighs

[Final Warrior]

*Leo gets up and walks off to Medical, to check up on Dexter.*

Dexter just walks out of Medical and passes by Leo giving him a quick salute not waiting for it to be returned and runs off to the training ground.

Simon: a little bit anxious isnt he?

[Final Warrior]

Leo: Close brushes with Death do that to you. C'mon, we need to catch up with him, make sure he doesn't accidently blast us to kingdom come.

*Leo walks off to the training grounds.*

Simon walked off to the training grounds shouldering his Sniper rifle. It was time to show the others what he can accomplish now, even handicapped with liver poison.

[Final Warrior]

*Leo spots Dexter out on the fields, blowing Nagalisk away.*

Leo: Wait. Let's just watch, make sure he doesn't do anything too drastic...

Dexter blew away Nagalisks as if they were weeds. He kept shooting them down one by one, aiming at a random spot and the bullet somehow killing a Nagalisk

Dexter: Whadya think

[Final Warrior]

Leo: Amazing... you just might make sniper material. Heh... How'd you get so good at finding them?

Dexter: Hello? You forget, I am the Admiral's handpicked sniper. I am THE best in the bunch.

Simon grunted shaking his head

Dexter: Whats to funny boy?

Simon: You couldn't outmatch me in sniping Dex. Leo saw it himself, I am the best at sniping.

Dexter: pffft...

[Final Warrior]

Leo: I thhink Simon just challenged you, Dexter... are you going to back down?

Dexter: Boy, you couldn't hit a Nagalisk Carrier ship if it was 5 feet infront of you. Your drunkness would throw your aim off.

Simon trembled, feeling the need to strike Dexter but resisting it.
