Nagalisk Calling

[Final Warrior]

*Leo pulls out his personal rifle, removes the 'nade launcher nd switches out for a more powefful scope. He turns on the laser sight and takes aim, then pulls the trigger. A silent round blows through the laser target.*

Leo: Hmph... these rounds are too small.

*Leo removes his 7.62 mm rounds and switches out for .56 caliber sniper rounds, changing out the rifle muzzle as well. The assault rifle now more closely resembles a sniper. Leo plugs another laser target, then turns off the laser, takes aim, and fires.*

Leo: So far, so good.

*Leo takes off the silncer and switches the firing mechanism to semi-automatic. He fires off three successive rounds, each hitting with 5 mm of his first shots.*

Leo: And now, old fashioned...

*Leo gets out a timer, accurate to a nanosecond. He fires off three more shots, refreshing the chamber manually each time. He checks the watch, which clocks at 6.3000.*

Simon: Nice.

Leo: I've had nothing to do for the past...

Simon: Day.

Simon laughs a little and keeps practicing with the Barette. his furthest most accurate shot is 1800 m from target, more than enough distance to be unseen.

Leo: Simon, you are more of a sniper than a support soldier

Simon: heh... i guess so lets try a sim shall we?

Simon switches it to a simulation of a valley village with mountains all around it. he bolts off to the mountains and sets computers to 7

Simon sets up to a prone position on a midsized mountain and pulls out the barette and aims at a sim's head and fires. it is only after the man dies when the gunshot is heard

Leo: Tex, send a note to the Admiral: His son can pick off targets at nearly two times the accurate range.

Tex: Gotcha.

*Leo runs up the mountainside and sets up camp just above Simon.*

Leo: Let's see if you can take on a Gear...

*A Gear spawns in the middle of the village.*

Leo: It's going easy on you... normally, I'd pick heavy Gear, camo or cloaked. Harder to hit, harder to take down.

Simon smiles and then aims at the spinning gear's engine

Simon: one

Simon: two

Simon: THREE

Simon pulls the trigger blowing off the engine cleanly the gear stops moving and powers down

Simon fires a shot at the gear's head blowing off the comm antennae

Simon: how do you like me now

[Final Warrior]

Leo: Hmm... you could be doing better... let's see. I think we'll try out your skills in all areas at the same time. Computer, difficulty 12, scenario "Lotus Blossom" One man,

*Suddenly, a large group of Nagalis appear in the village, and begin to attack the villagers. Nagalisk Gears begin torching and burning down the surrounding forest.*

Leo: It's just you. Your objectives are to minimize civilian casulties, deterr the Nagalisk, and get away undetected. One word of advice: they have Cloakshapers.

Simon: huh...no problem

Simon puts his ear to the ground and hears the nagalisks movement he fires at them killing a few.

Simon wheels around killing the last of them no civilians die

Simon: damn that was hard

[Final Warrior]

*A cloaked Nagalisk jumps down from a tree, landing on Simon, who fires at it, but is taken by surprise and is hit hard. The Nagalisk, however, dies.*

Leo: Not so easy, hmm? You forgot to take in account of the terrain.

Simon: yea well thats the last of them....

Simon disengages the simulation

Simon: well now you know

Simon's barret rifle is on the ground, he stomps on the butt of the rifle making it take to the air, he catches it by the trigger jack and holds it over his shoulder

Simon: im off to get some grub

[Final Warrior]

Leo: Already?

*Leo turns away, to the sims operation computer.*

Leo: Level 20, Operation 'Black Hail'.

*As Simon leaves, Leo begins a harder simulation.*

Simon enters the mess hall and eats a quick lunch and then starts walking to the bar when a strong hand grabs his shoulder

Dexter: no no no, you have a ban from that place for a bit remember?

Simon: Dexter, you got out of the hospital?

Dexter: yea it took em a bit though, my injuries were suvere

*Leo emerges from the sim room and sees Dexter stopping Simon from going to the bar.*

Leo: Nice to see you up and about, Dexter.

Dexter: Thanks, sir.

Leo: None of that; we're on 'leave'.

Dexter: Yeah, I was briefed.

Dexter: on a lighter note, we got new Gear stuff. now we have a Particle Accelerator. capable of putting a Nagalisk out of its misery in several seconds.

Simon: nice. i gotta get me one of those

[Final Warrior]

Leo: You might want to hold off... If you recall the briefing...

Dexter: The Hyperion is going to take out one of the Nagalisk fleets.

Simon: What?! Just the Hyperion?

Leo: No. We'll be mounting the first assault, with rail guns and plasma cannons. The Hperion is going to be retrofitted with EMP emitters soon. It'll knock out Nagalisk shields, and then we can go in, blasting hell out of them.

Simon: Then?

Dexter: Then the rest of our strike fleet, capital chips modeled after the Hyperion's systems, will come in.

Leo: We're taking out the Nagalisk Orbital Assault Cannons. The OACs have to be taken out, or we lose the fleet. We're going in long-range. So Rail Guns and anti-ship weaponry; We go in and decimate as much of the fleets as possible. Besides, most of their ships are planet-side; we'll destroy whatever space defense there is and then get out.

Dexter: Of course, it'd still be really hard... which is why we have one hundred and fifty other ships backing us up.

Simon: alright so we have to do this while maintaining the illusion that we are on "leave".

Leo: that is correct.

Simon: sounds like a wild goose chase to me.

Dexter: you never know kid sometimes a wild goose chase can have a straight path

[Final Warrior]

*A marine comes up to Leo.*

Marine: Sir! Commander Geans wants to see you at the bridge, sir!

Leo: ... Very well. Just me?

Marine: No, sir! He wants all of you there, sir!

Leo: *Turns to Simon* Let's go. *Looks at Marine* Dismissed.

Marine: Sir!

*The Marine and walks off, visibly sweating. They had heard stories about the DREAM MAKERs. Nagalisk meat-grinders, capable of killing anything in their way. Those guys were the hardest of the hard-core, the craziest of the crazy. He had heard of when one of them had done a one-man orbital drop from an Atmospheric Dropship. Whoever that guy was, he was crazy. He had heard stories about the battle to recover the Hyperion's plasma emitter, how a force of around a dozen of the DREAM MAKERs had blasted their way through a few thousand Nagalisk. Those guys were nuts with mods.

Leo turned away, headed to the bridge. He saw Kate and the others up ahead.*

Simon flashes a grin at seeing kate and then puts his mission face on

Simon: whats the breifing pops? i mean sir?

Codop: settle down leutennant Geans will fill you in

[Final Warrior]

*A man, seated behind an oaken desk with his back to the DREAM MAKERs, now stands up. His grizzled hair and white beard betrays his age. However, his eyes carry a cold hard glint, showing that he is not unused to war.*

Commander Geans: It's been a long, long time.... I haven't seen you since recovering the plasma emitter... Well then, you'll all be glad to know that we'll be arriving in a day. Get ready. We have one hundred and fifty ships backing us up, but that won't stand a chance against the OACs. You'll be going in, along with our best marines, and will be taking out as many OACs as you can. You'll have light and heavy attack fighters running diversions, and we'll be bombarding them with whatever we have.

Leo: Is this a covert mission?

Commander Geans: Yes. We'll be sending in techies to commandeer the OACs after you nuetralize the Nagalisk. Destroy the OACs only if you have to; we'd like to use the Nagalisk weapons against them.

Simon: OACs, got it. what equipment will we use?

Geans: that is for your squad leader to decide.

Leo: ill divide troops into one squad of Stealth Gears and the other half is on foot light equipment

Geans: done, get to it soldiers

Simon: oh good i get to blast more Nagalisks

Simon turns to Leo

Simon: ill be a sniper, you guys need ranged cover

[Final Warrior]

Leo: mhm. But also, outfit your Gears with Railguns and Plasma Gatlings. Also, your AIs will be upgraded soon. They're overdue for one.

Tex: Whaddya mean, "overdue"?

Leo: I mean that our AIs are outdated. We'll be getting intrusion software, military tatics, strategies, etcetera, etcetera.

Tek: I resent that remark! I CANT BE OVERDUE! im too young to be replaced!

Simon: Tek, your a good friend i dont want you to be replaced

Tek: that coming from the one who gets drunk and passes out on the job
