The Dragonis War

Torque smiled back at her. "He was always the drama king type." He grinned. "Me, I was more the chivilrous one." He said. "You are both welcome to come and when we meet him, I'll fight him first, it's my family business but I'll let Asakai finish him off with a 'kiss of death' per say."

[Asakai-miko-Midoriko]

"That's not funny....." She narrowed her eyes and folding her arms. She then began to walk foreward before an idea popped into her head. She walked back toward Balthizar and gave him a good smack to the cheek before walking foreward again."That's for the bar wench in your dreams....pervert." She huffed before descending down the stairs.'I might as well have entertainment if I'm stuck with these three...' For a second she swore she felt a warm sensation in her heart but she dissmissed it.

Thaltos bit his lip to keep from laughing when Asakai slapped Balthizar. When a suppressed chuckle drew the attentions of Torque and a red puffy-cheeked Balthizar, Thaltos wiped his face clean of emotion and coughed.

"Huh? Oh, nothing. Ahem. I believe there was a battle on the horizon?"

[Ninja_Blue]

Balthizar took his hand away from his cheek and shrugged his shoulders, "Not the first time I've been smacked by a woman. Well, what the hell are we waiting for? Lets get moving!" Balthizar said with glee.

Torque nodded and then started off towards the woods nearby, at the bottom of the plateau. He looked around carefully and as Asakai could notice, he was not as skilled as his ancestor was in tracking. Torque only looked for simple things like footprints, not at disturbed underbrush or tree branches. Torque's face, however was bent in serious concentration. He had a special grudge against his brother, since Gai went around and posed as Torque due to their identical appearances. But if Gai was like Torque, he died his hair color away from its natural red. Torque's bleached white hair waved in the breeze as he proceeded through the forest.

[Asakai-miko-Midoriko]

She followed behind them almost boredly. It wasn't that the tracking bored her it was the waiting.Tracking was intense it was the hunt. The hunt gave way to your prey's strength. The longer it takes to find them the better the battle. The waiting is what ate at her nerves. She had to admit that the situation at current was better than drifting around searching for any minor clue to the scriptures or being attacked on a regular basis. She felt a cold chill run up her spine as they passed deeper into the forest."...Torque...this place is laced...with traps..." She spoke in a hushed tone.

[Vadriel]

Thaltos sniffed the air. "She's right. It's not quite right here...we should proceed with caution. If you'd like I can follow you through the trees, which are far less likely to be trapped."

[Ninja_Blue]

Balthizar spoke up, "Let me go ahead, I've been known to be quite agile, few traps have foiled me in my day. At least I can be of some use, eh?"

Balthizar proceeded to take the lead.

Torque nodded to Asakai. "You are right." He then nodded to Balthizar. "Go and do your best then my friend." He said then continued walking.

[Asakai-miko-Midoriko]

"I'll follow Balthizar...he is human afterall.If any of these traps have magic in them he might get himself killed." She took off after Balthizar. She was well aware Thaltos did not want Balthizar off on his own he had made that clear earlier.

[Ninja_Blue]

Balthizar made a serious look to Asakai, "Listen now, and listen closely, I may be in human form, but I still have my wits and knowledge, I know much about traps. Just follow my lead, and listen to my instruction, or we will both be killed."

Balthizar motioned for Asakai to hold still, "Hold there, let me check something.....Ah yes, here we are. A trip-wire........but that seems too...."
As he was about to finish, his eyes went wide open, he then turned to Asakai, "Get back! But watch your steps closely! There are trip wires everywhere!"

[Asakai-miko-Midoriko]

She rolled her eyes before standing still and putting her hands together in a almost prayer like motion. She opened her eyes which were a glazed pale blue she looked around quickly." I count...three-hundred-forty-seven.....Seventh wire on the right....cut it at an angle...be sure no one moves." She kept her eyes on the one wire not moving for one second.

[Ninja_Blue]

"Fool! You cannot cut these, your young nature makes you blind to see the complications of these traps. These were laid by a master, not some apprentice trapper. If you are to cut only one, it will trigger them all. You must cut them all at once, or nothing will survive." Balthizar said this in a very agitated tone.

[Vadriel]

Thaltos sighed. "And how exactly are we supposed to do that?"

[Asakai-miko-Midoriko]

"You may be old..but your anything but wise. These wires are laid in pattern. This one here will eliminate danger...The Eyes of Saiten do not lie. This hunter knows we are smart and therefore wants to trick you. Cutting all the wires will undoubtedly play into his hand. He wants us to think...afterall if he is a true hunter he wants to see how far we will get." She spoke her eyes still glazed in blue."Either cut the wire ...or else." She gave a hiss.

[VoxEladrin]

Torque sighed. "Damnit Gai...." He muttered then walked on, sidestepping a tripwire. "You guys, what if we cut through one of them, it might trigger them all but it also might not. Gai is good at mind games, he's a clever bastard." He muttered.

[Vadriel]

Thaltos snorted. This indecisiveness was grating on his nerves.

"Oh for the love of the Gods, it may or may not, but just DO something!"

He swung one of the Shears at the tripwire Asakai had indicated, and neatly severed it.

Everybody else cringed, expecting the worst...but nothing happened.

"Well there you have it." Thaltos replaced the blade across his back.

"Shall we continue?"

Balthizar glared at Asakai, then he made a quick turn. "Very well, lets move on." Balthizar said hiding his anger.

[Asakai-miko-Midoriko]

She began walking with them when she tackled Balthizar to the ground. A rather large stream of arrows hit the tree next to them."It seems we were both right....."

Balthizar got up, dusting his shirt off, he starting muttering to himself, "....Of course, no one wants to listen to Balthizar......It's always the uninformed one they listen to......."
