Piece of Mind imo... The Trooper is an awesome song. Both are good though.

Judas Priest - Painkiller
Dethklok - The Dethalbum (lol this one's funny)
In Flames - Colony, Whoracle
Praxis - Sacrifist (might be a tad experimental for you)
The Dillinger Escape Plan - Miss Machine

For some progressive metal you could try Dream Theater/Pain of Salvation/Porcupine tree.

Powerslave is the far more popular album, between the songs Powerslave, Aces High, 2 minutes 2 midnight, Rime of the Ancient Mariner. Solid recrod.

Piece of mind has the trooper and a few lesser known songs I personally love.

Though I would recommend both, Powerslave is the one with the stronger grouping of songs.

Good is relative... I think Slayer is ho-hum as far as metal bands are concerned.

You could also try some tech death metal... stuff like:
Opeth -Still Life
Death - Symbolic/Human
Atheist - Unquestionable Presence
Meshuggah - Chaosphere
