Well, go to any website, like www.battle.net, and right click on an image and click properties. The link for the image is in there and also the size and dimensions. Copy the URL and go to your profile/sig thing and paste the URL between the tags [img][*/img] (without the *). If you want to upload your own picture, use Angelfire by registering and upload an image and highlight it and click view to get the URL and put that between the tags.
