my second try vs my first try it would look like i ripped someone but last time i tried was about 4-5 months ago the second was made just a few says agothere is more to come for i hate how my stars came out so i will be working with them

i no longer use his tut at all infact useinghis tut is the wrong thing to do its not the best thing to brush the planet on for if you do then you will lose most/all your control over it

as for getting textures DO NOT USE GOOGLE use Deviant ART and browse then dl HIGH RES pictures like concrete wood just random things try to get above 1600x1200 in reso on a texture or close enough

also to make stars the easy way (and for first timers) dont use eraser add a layermask with Filter>Render>Clouds and on the larger stars add diffrence clouds after the first clouds

if your texture isnt big enough and you end up with lines use the HEAL tool to removve it rememeber it dosent need to be a perfect heal because most of it will be coverd with the shadow layer to make your shadow somewhat more light like i have in mine (it also looks better) make the shadow layer around 90-95% opacity

the hardest part is stars beleave me planets are cake once you can do the amtmosphere right and have the right textures then after that its perfecting the planet makeing process

but i did fond something helpful to do stars with in gregs fire tut you know the part were you set photoshop to be full screen with a black bg? yea well set photoshop to that as you make your stars to get to the menu that you dont see anymore on your tool pallate there is an arroow that wasent there before at the top of the bar click that then let your eye adjust to the darkness for abit and now you can see the stars alot better

dont like lens flares try useing a brush instead of a lens flare like take a soft color (color for bright star) then on a soft big brush with like 75% opacity or so then dab one click on to were you want now set to half the size and make it a 50% soft brush and set color to white dab the into the center now just shrink its size to what you need

wha want more detail alright then make a new layer add a white line horazontaly very short mind you just bigger then the whole star now use laymask and remove the edges apply the mask on to it then duplacate flip 90° that i got from looking at some nasa photo's those are large stars close by or better yet prolly how our sun would look standing on pluto
