NOTE: THIS IS FOR WINDOWS VISTA, IT MAY WORK ON XP BUT I HAVE NOT TESTED.
Hate that lame PC controllers feel? well no problem, now you can make an Xbox controller that will work on your PC!

Stuff you need:
-Xbox 360 controller
-Windows Vista
-the correct software:
64 bit version: Download details: Xinput Driver for Microsoft Common Controller (64 Bit)
32bit version: Download details: Xinput Driver for Microsoft Common Controller (32 Bit)

First, you will need to download the xbox controller software. If you dont know where to get it, do a search on the official Microsoft website, it should be an easy find.

Now, before attaching the controller to your PC, install the software onto the computer running windows Vista. Its simple, follow the instructions and you should be fine.

Once it has installed properly, shut down your PC. After it is shut down, connect the controller to a USB port. Once you have done this, turn the system back on. it should detect new hardware, but if not, go to your control pannel, select "System" then at the top choose the "Hardware" tab, from there, open device manager and see if it is located in that list. You can also check in the control pannel itself, you should see the Game controller icon there.

Once you have seen that it is infact installed, it's time to run a test to make sure the controller is working properly. Click Start > Run, and type "Joy.cpl" and then click the 'ok' button.

after that is done, use the "Device Calibration Wizard." If the controller has been configured and setup correctly, you will see a prompt show up when you click the controls. Click "Apply" to see if the controler is functioning now.

As long as that is all okay (and it should be) you can click the "OK" button twice if you like the settings, if not, do it again and set it up the way you would want it.

after that, you now have a perfectly working Xbox 360 controller for all your PC games, this brings some added fun with most every arcade game I've tried so far.
