Renguard

I recommend that all players install this program with thier renegade

Renguard:
http://www.renguard.com/

This is an anti-cheat program that will prevent some of the third party program cheats from working in game. Some servers use options that will check for it and can often throw a popup in your face telling you to get it.

Also, some options involving ! and a command may not work without it.

It is compatiable with First Decade, just change the directory from Renegade (the default for hte installation), to the Renegade stored in your First Decade directory.

When you install it, it will run a window for Renguard 1.03 whenever you start Renegade instead of going to the game. Simply click on the Renegade button to start Renegade.

If you don't want this feature, it will add a Game2.exe to your Renegade directory, which is basically your game without the Renguard feature.

Thanks for the post, Postwolf. It's really useful for prospecting players who don't know where to find these things

Indeed, I had some problems with the Renguard popups. Plus there is message that posts saying you are a potential cheater if you dont have it. Admins could easily ban you for that reason.

Would our server require renguard? From what I hear it has nothing but upsides, so I'd say to.

A server doesnt require Renguard to operate, but the users might need it so they don't get the popup to the face saying go get it. It might be recommended to get it, so we can avoid third party hacks/cheats ruining the fun for the users.

It interrupts you in gameplay.

Yeah, I meant should our server require it because it seems really useful to prevent hacks. How hard is it to get around by the way?

I am not sure. They gave a pretty vague description of the hacks it stops.

There is however, a v1.04 coming soon.
