Generally, free MMOs suck. They're good for a quick day or so fix, but other than that...

QFT. I like Silkroad online for a little while. Try www.onrpg.com. They have a big list of free mmo's.

free mmo's are ugly and boring t_t. You won't be able to get a nice looking game and a large community for free. You take either a private server of a good game or a free, but terrible game.

Going with Guildwars, but for a fully free one I would say that Knight Online is the best.

Yes it is. You may use the word Online Action Game, but most do consider it a MMORPG.

View it however you would like, but most(that I've seen) agree it is a MMORPG.

MMO would entitle the entire games world to be open at all times to all players. This cannot be said of GW.

Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game means the world has to be open at all times? I don't think so!

Edit: This isn't an arguement, the term MMORPG can be viewed differently by different people. Though if you would like to badger bullshit about how you're right and I'm wrong go ahead. I'm not going to waste my time proving my e-penis is bigger than yours.

After stepping into the realm of free MMO's for a while, I have concluded that they all suck. Don't be cheap and spend about $40 for a game. Anyways, here's the ones I tried:

- Private WoW Servers: Sort of sucked. Not enough activity, stability, etc.
- Private RO Servers: Why did I DO THIS?! RO wasn't that great to begin with, and private servers are worse!
- Knight Online: Makes Runescape look exciting
- Kal Online: Boring, no real skill variation until the level 30's, and most of the people use credit card fraud (ccf) to get cash in the game anyways. I wouldn't touch that shit with a 10 foot pole.
- Silk Road Online: Decent, but a little boring and ever-laggy
- Runescape: Bad graphics, repetitive gameplay, but the PVP system is actually very fun. I spent a week chopping yew trees while talking in Vent with my friends instead of pissing around elsewhere, and the ~2 mil gold I got from that lasted a few months of PKing, which was fun. Not really worth it if you want to have fun before your first 999 hours of gameplay though -.-
- Guild Wars: Not free, but no monthly fee. GW is fun for a while until you beat it 3-4 times (it takes like a week. I've been able to speedrun old guild members in about an hour through the entire game) The PVP is also very fun for about a month or two until you get frustrated at the idiots you have to deal with even in the higher levels of PVP.

GW and Runescape are the only two I'd ever go back to playing. Well I guess i'd play them all if somebody took a soldering iron to my nutsack or something extreme like that.
