Is Unreal Tournament 2004 good?

Yeah, well as you all know Xmas is coming fast and I was wondering what I could ask for. I looked a bit on internet and Unreal Tournament 2004 looks pretty neat, not to forget reviews say it's kickass. I would just like comments or suggestions from people that have it, tell me if it would be a good choice . Also, any info on what is the editor choice's edition would be cool, and if I should get it.

I've been playing the demo for over a year, and I'd say it is well worth the money. I just need to save money.

Okay, but is it still popular? Lots of people play it? And what is the editor's choice edition, I know it add things like maps but must must I buy both, normal edition and this one (like an expansion pack), or just the editor's choice edition alone will install all?

A good number of people still play it. Hell, there are even demo servers up that people still max out on.
