| Post counts don't show how much you care about a forum, it shows how much of a spammer you are. IMO, remove them altogether.

| I guess this isn't the place to debate this, but that seems like a silly decision. |

| True enough, but it gets kind of hard to focus on a specific genre when you are drowned with threads in chit chat like "what are you listening to?" Justin Timberlake blahblah Christina Agu..whatserface, all this pop crap you hear on the radio every 15 minutes..
I dont feel its gonna interfere with the main feature games since the "Other Interests" section is almost at the bottom of the index page anyway and has "General Gaming" as well as "Console Gaming" Despite being an "Other Interests" forum!! Not trying to be funny, but you know what i mean though?
I dont know about you but i dont know any people that would sit there playing games in silence or listening to the annoying soundtrack crap thats on games by choice, so its not as though its unrelated. Its all good having a proper gaming forum and all, but no need to chuck completely different types of people in one small place and let them annoy the s**t out of each other when they want to talk to the other members about something other than computer games.
F**k knows bruv, if you see it working then il go with, but i think you kinda dropped yourself in it but changing so many things at once in a forum thats been around for ages and its all settled down.. All i can say is good luck..

But again, I'm trying to get rid of any unnecessary forums. The Other Interests forum is named that way because they are other interests, relative to the main interest of the forum, Blizzard's games. |

Members of the Forum Elder and Forum Ancient groups are elevated, but they're not staff members. |

| I for one welcome the new changes. I left BF about a month or two ago with the premise of never returning. Once I heard BF was sold to a new guy, and a bunch of changes were being made I decided I'd ask to be unbanned and give it another whirl so to speak. Then when I come back I notice that Mike was banned..and hell..that's just the icing on the cake if you ask me. =P
I'm curious, Max, a lot of the older members here whom have been around forever don't really play the Blizzard games anymore (aside from WoW to a small extent), and the lot of us posted in the general forums. How do you plan to accommodate to those of us whom have moved on? I'm just curious because being one of those people..I only stayed because of how long I've known a lot of the not-so-horrible members we still have left.
Well whatever..either way I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do with this place, and I hope that for once history doesn't repeat itself. Good luck with the forums, Max. =)

Members of the Forum Elder and Forum Ancient groups are elevated, but they're not staff members. | The point of the battlestaff was more than staff discussion, it allowed normal people to post their problems and suggestions but not view all posts, Elders had the privilege to view all the posts and give their suggestions as well (seeing as they are Elders, and I hope you know that Elders were once important to the battleforums community).
Thanks for banning Mike too <3. |

Compared to the past, there are fewer, but the purpose of the consolidation was not to limit discussion.
Welcome back. |

| I didn't realize that you'd just merged forums. I guess I'll linger in Chit-Chat. I'll probably poke my head in the SC2 forum or the WoW forum from time to time just to see what's going on with them.

Thanks for banning Mike too <3. | It's now strictly staff discussion.
In the future, there may be a forum where Forum Ancients, Forum Elders, and the Forum Staff can post.
Again, I did not remove the access as some sort of demotion. You still have the same respectable position. Regardless, I understand your frustration. |

| If I am allowed to comment...
Why did I made that sentence, you wonder? Because it seems to me that this character, Max, either does not really know what BattleForums.com is about, or he does, and plans to change it.
Either way, it seems to me that BF as we knew it is going to end. Will it get better or worse? Who knows. I'm gonna stay here and watch, that's for sure, because I've been on BF for the last five years, with plenty of participation, and I'm curious to see how it will end up to be, like god watching over mankind (pardon the exaggerated comparison).
I do, however, have a question/comment to you, Max. Why are you trying to control everything? I can see many a thread edited by you, banned people, etc. It's like you want the forums to be exactly the way you want them to, and not the way they've been for so long and the way they're supposed to be. Because, believe me, this is the place in the internet I've ever knew off that truly respected the meaning of the word forum. I'm sure you can understand what this means, since you seem like a smart guy. Or at least you type like a smart guy, make interesting arguments, even if for one day I've hardly seen anything. But you're not the first person in BF that types like a British scholar and thinks like a Jamaican in a camp of grass.
In any case, hope it'll all go alright. I don't care about your investment, but I do care about the outcome of BF.
Cheers. |
