The virtual dice system (OpenRPG to be exact) is a free version of Wizard ot the coast's pay to use software.

Yeah I have seen that program. It simulates dice rolls, I should make one myself for my resume using VC++.

I need programming experience. And all it really is is typing in some simple numbers in a Dialog Box. And playing around with the document view. The only hard part is learning the skematics of the dice throws.

User specifies dice roll setup.

Then do a rand( ) % max side of dice = number of dice rolls required.

Output them to the screen. But since I would be using Graphics, the real challenge is drawing Polygons that are like the dice themselves.

If you mean the textbox and buttons and ****. I would need to freshen up my knowledge of .Net C++. This will allow me to thread things and create a more useful GUI. But the problem is: It may have some issues running MFC classes for visuals.

Chat features is easier to do on Linux. Read and writing to sockets is not a problem. And I do not want to learn DirectPlay (internet DirectX).

Doing the map depends. Its really just keeping track of player locations.

Maybe a feature for moving their characters, monsters, etc. Chests, doors, and other features. Would be kinda cool.

If this is something that can be illegally downloaded via bittorrents, I can host it on my personal server for others to download off of that aren't familiar with it. I might be interested in this sort of thing if you guys are still planning on doing it. I played a lot of 2nd and 3rd edition with my friends back home till I moved about 7 states away from them.
