| Lumberjack Starting from the basics of the class design, it will be similar to the ranger. Except in that it will focus, primarily, on two-handed weaponry. Especially large axes.
Remove all spells(?), maybe the favoured enemy business. But add new abilities more unique to the class. My R&D and I were joking about an ability that goes off if the character enters a building or room.
Post what you think, constructive or don't bother.

| Re: Lumberjack You should make a passive effect where it does bonus damage vs natural creatures like Treants or Woodland creatures.
Btw, I didn't mean to delete your thread by accident.

| Re: Lumberjack It's alright. I was thinking about ignoring a certain amount of hardness. Possibly 5, on all objects. Maybe talking to animals?
Another idea being tossed around is the innate ability to talk to trees.

| Re: Lumberjack The ability to communicate with nature should be there. However, depending on if it's your Geomancer of the game, then you should balance the speech skill accordingly.

| Re: Lumberjack The "Geomancer" is more the druid. This guy will be... a guy, with an axe. I mean a big-ass axe, who hews things down with it. People, trees, dragons.
Survival as a class skill is RIGHT in, as is profession (lumberjack).

| Re: Lumberjack I would give him the Nature Speak, but tone it down since he is more of a Strength character.
The advantage powers over Nature would be good too.

| Re: Lumberjack Naturally. It would also only be available at high levels, and only for a certain amount of time per day?

| Re: Lumberjack Ability to control/manipulate nature is a more druidic trait. They would have abilities more oriented towards certain tasks regarding trees, surviving and combat using large, bulky weapons.
Renamed to: Woodsman.

| Re: Lumberjack Control and manipulate natural phenomenon is labelled as "Geomancy". If the class is STR suited, you cant get away with this.
Although, in FFT (sorry using game yuo dont like), Geomancers were balanced between magic (the spells they cast depending on the terrian square they were on, status effects depend on spell) and physical attack (as they can carry swords, shields and axes).

| Re: Lumberjack True, but that role is thoroughly filled by the druid, and to a lesser degree the ranger (now hunter?). The woodsman (New name might be desirable) will be around subtle manipulation of wood, and physical attack.
