New Old Player Here w/Questions-->>

Hello All-

Played D2 from the release date back in 2000 until just after LOD came out and really started disliking it... more to do with the folks playing it than the game itself.

I've recently found my very dusty D2 discs and stared at them fondly when I had the thought, "Maybe this would be fun again?".

So here I am, just freshly registered here at BattleForums (seems like a nice place for info) and with a few different questions...

1. Is there any easy way (easy way-meaning for a semi-illiterate, old fart, 41 year old) to use my D2 without popping the disc in every time? I have all the discs and my CD Key so no worries there... it's just that my wife got me a new, fancy CDR for our computer which I love but it's louder than a boatload of bees so having my play disc in there, spinning around won't be very much fun for creating "a mood" of suspense & terror!

If my memeory serves me (and it probably doesn't!)... I think what I'm looking for is a no disc crack?

2. Next question... I'm thinking I might like to try playing just in Single Player Offline which is something I've never done before. Again, I vaguely recall there being something mentioned a while back about a way to get full party experience in single player (or maybe it was only single player B-Net) games?

If so, can someone point toward the info on this and how to use it?

3. Last question... If I'm going to play D2 Classic in SP Offline mode... is there a preferred version above all others that I might enjoy? If so, where can I find a download for that version? Also, do I need a fresh install to accomplish this?

Thanks so much for reading and helping out an old geezer...

Have a good one!

1. you are looking for the no cd crack (Onlyers d2 loader works nicely) found in the Bnet modifications section of this site

2. ive heard about it, but its not popular, something like "Player 8" to get xp points like theres 8 ppl in game, not tsure if it works, just google for diabloII cheats and itll show up soon.

3. i highly recomend playing online bnet, not single player, BUT, if you want, i really liked 1.09 and they can be downloaded at www.blizzard.com
