Playing Online With Dial-Up

I am new to Diablo 2, but not to Diablo and I was wondering is it even worth trying to play online with Dial-Up?

You can bring your offline character onnline into Open Battle.net. However, hackers are all over there. The wisest and possibly smartest decision for someone who is new to Diablo II would be to just start a new character on Closed Battle.net, by clicking Battle.net and thren creating an account. The online community on Diablo II dwindles every minute,. but about 70,000 more people play Diablo II still then Diablo 1, so it's definately still worth playing if you're a newbie.
