pvp = player versus player (a dueling character)
pvm = Player Versus Monster (a pvm character, baaler/cower/runner/mf'r/etc)

the "best" gear is often argued about, but with me i like to use the following:
shako (topaz socket)
occy
tals amy
tals armor (Topaz socket)
war travs
lidless
ravenfrost rings (2 of them) or nagels (2 of them)
chancies
tals belt

and there ya go, u get nice skills, along with diecent mf

also, if your not super godly (aka Poor) dont feel bad. we all were. the best settup if thats the case would be the following:

3 socket Ptopaz crown (or helm of your choice)
tanks armor + amy
chancies
goldwrap
mila shield
gulll
24+ mf rare shoes
nagels x2

thats the mf sorc 4 classic dII, but it works for the more less-fortunate of the xpan players...i use to use that setup

if u use that gear make a sorc (orb or blizz)

if you use orb, tele around so he doesnt hit you, or learn to run-dodge his attacks *you will die fast so be good*
if you make a blizz sorc, moat trick his ass.
